CA Lottery: Do I have to put SS# for prize claim form.
Hello, I know in CA, undocumented people can still claim prizes. The CA claim form has a check box that says I don't have an SS# . They simple are subject to 28% or 30% withholding Vs 25% for SS# holders. My question is I do have an SS#, but I don't want to write on the claim form with all this ID theft going on. Even at the Drs office I never put my SS# on their forms. My address is the same for the last 23 years, this should suffice right? I'm sure they can find me and lookup t

From a dream: I parked both my cars in the middle of the street. One car was being gifted to my son. So I wanted to make sure it was where I could see it. I looked outside and BOTH were gone! I knew that they had been stolen. I asked my one son for his cell phone. It had no Keypad. I was frustrated! I said how am I to call the police and report this theft? He said just talk. So I did. The police laughed and said they'd be there on Friday. I said...NO! Come now! and they hung up on me. I t

Georgia Gov. signs bill allowing lottery winners to remain anonymous
I and others on this site am far from paranoid. But what I can tell you( Mr/Ms Fellini) as a 17 year veteran police officer who has investigated homicides/suicides/sex crimes/theft/domestics/robberies and various other crimes against humanity, that there are some people out there that don't care about your life/opinion and have zero remorse about taking it or items from you at any given moment. There is an old saying in my career field and it goes like this, 90% of the folks out here are good an

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
The minimum payback number also differs from game, although the amount is the same for most books from my past experiences. If you email the FL Lottery, they can clarify the minimum payback on any particular game. That's interesting, that information conflicts from what some of us have been told. I've heard from a lottery district office staff member (who has worked for the lottery for many years), that some prizes go unclaimed due to tickets being removed from circulation (stores closin

Michigan Lottery cracks down on retailers who cheat customers
Many lotteries don't allow cancels, so if there's a mistake, often the store eats the loss. Clerks may feel pressured to sell such tickets, even after the drawing(s), to avoid being penalized by their employer. Some lotteries have a procedure to credit back mistakes to a limited extent, but this isn't something many clerks or even some retailers are aware of. Easier to just sell mistakes to unsuspecting customers. And as you rightly point out, retailers generally earn around $50 per $1000

Lottery Complaint Investigators don't investigate anything
How exactly does a cashier steal a MM ticket from you and how do you know its value after the fact when it was a QP Why would he steal a ticket before knowing a drawing and before knowing its worth? Why not complain to the supervisor/manager about the issues when they occurred? Why not first file a direct complaints against the cashier to 7 Eleven? A month ago I was waiting in line directly behind the guy being checked out. After the cashier was done, the guy then chose to add cigarettes an
