110 $100,00 WINNERS !!??
What happened? How can there be 110 2nd tier winners on a low jackpot? Something is very strange. If they were self-picks, what did those 110 people know? (Actually 111 since there was a jackpot winner as well). And if they were computer generated quick picks - that is very unlikely as well. I don't recall ever seeing that many winners even on a record breaking jackpot. I'm baffled.

How much do you make in pick 3 & 4?
Molly, I keep a record of all my lottery play and separate the amount I spent on all games. It sure does open your eyes. I'm like I just hit a straight for $290.00 that's awesome, actually is was for $32.00. when you subtract the month's losses. Pick three is the worst game beacuse most people think they can beat it. No other lottery game gives you such a taste of winning. Pick four st's/bx's are hard to hit and jackpot games odds are crazy but in pick three you can hit more (straights especial

Remember When?
Remember when all lottery games were restricted to one state only? Yeah, In Florida it's still that way.Remember when a $1 million jackpot meant something? I'm not that oldRemember when a $10 million jackpot would spur record sales? I'm really not that oldRemember when a $100 million jackpot would result in huge lines at convenience stores? Oh yeah.Remember when a Lotto game was something along the lines of 6/36 (or even less), and not 6/52 (or even more)? No.Remember when scratch-offs only cost

Too many players winning Powerball, lottery says
Quote: Originally posted by RJOh on March 23, 2005Quote: Originally posted by golotto on March 23, 2005A random game like Powerball, with it's current matrix, might begin a record setting jackpot run at any time. States and casinos that make their money off gambling don't like the word might, they want a steady flow of predictable income and they'll change the rules to make that happens.RJOhHow did I do that? At 3:00 pm, I quoted a remark from a post made by golotto at 3:02 pm. Did I see two m

Powerball Matrix Change?
Ouch a 400 million dollar loss in sales thanks to how poorly the game has been going lately. Powerball also needs to dump the lame rules regarding record jackpots. It's not exactly something they have to worry about unless they change the game but having limits on how high a jackpot gets will only dampen sales once a new Megamillions cracks all the Powerball records.Sadly the story also quotes some lame professer saying basically with the current odds they should get larger prizes. Same poor mat

Texas Lottery Approves Mega Millions Changes
Quote: Originally posted by tg636 on March 16, 2005 ... Personally, I'm glad the $300-500 million jackpot never happened, since I don't think anyone really needs more than $30 million and having more winners makes it more fun....Well now we really get to the root of it. People who like free choice and those who don't. This isn't the CCCP is America and you should have a choice. If you don't like games with big jackpots and terrible odds then don't play. There are plenty of state games with small

Powerball won AGAIN!!
I don't mind the low jackpots. I want to remind you all that this is an odds game. The recent winning might explain if the jackpot does not get won for a long time. It just might be setting itself up for a record jackpot ever in powerball. I say prep your numbers. It might be a one time thing.I hope I win before the increase the matrix. I am sure all these 18 million winners are as happy as a 100 million winners.

Streak of jackpot winners is bad luck for Powerball lottery sales
Quote: Originally posted by Rick G on March 16, 2005What are you going to do with all that money if you do win a half-billion $ jackpot? With the rules that PowerBall have when the jackpot exceeds the previous record, I doubt it will ever have a half billion dollars jackpot. At that point the second prize value increase. Multi-States lotteries aren't trying to attract those core players who will buy a lottery ticket to win $500-$4M, but those players who never think about any lottery until they

Texas Lottery Approves Mega Millions Changes
I don't really think a change is needed right now. 1 in 135 million seems like enough for now. I agree with jsk2001 that the consortium needs to simply observe what happens in real life, because predicting players habits is about as impossible as predicting the numbers. Look at the change to the current matrix. They were predicting $400,000,000+ jackpots, and they still haven't broken the old Big Game record yet. Of course there is one player habit that can be counted on, and that's no balls=no
