Indiana lottery players still hunting year-old jackpot
Anyone who does not question what is going on here in Indiana fails to view the Hoosier Lottery situationin it's totality. The fact is the Hoosier Lottery has been cheating players out of their money for years. They do so with impunity and with the full protection of the politicians in this state.
Recent cases in point:
1. Hoosier Lottery Executive Esther Q. Schneider was forced to resign due to a veritable plethora of ethics violations. These charges included (among other things) using

As a rule I am not an activist and generally keep my opinions to myself but, according to the article I just read, it appears that the Texas Lottery is having money woes and there are still plans for privatizing it.
Digging a bit deeper, this appears to be a trend in that other states have already done it and others are considering it.
The reason given in each case is falling revenues from their prospective lotteries.
I am in Texas and at one time ours was, not bragging, one of the rich

Now this is News worthy...Brad Duke
Yes Brad Duke is back in the news...for a good reason. Way to go BD; I'll be joining you in the pursuit to becoming a billionaire whether I win a huge jackpot or not. I remember I read an earlier story on Brad and the journalist clearly showed the wrong bias when he used the word spend ; Brad Duke is clearly focused on investing, not spending his lottery winnings. And yes, even inflation affects multi-millionaires: it costs more to purchase a learjet today than it did 10 years ago; it costs

N.C. lottery fraud trial puts S.C. Lottery under microscope
The federal trial of Kevin L. Geddings is probing as deeply into his pro-lottery work in South Carolina as it is into his activities leading up to his appointment last year to North Carolina's lottery commission.
And the evidence presented so far by prosecutors suggests they see a pattern of conduct payments to Geddings by lottery vendor Scientific Games in exchange for helping the company win lottery business.
Testimony and evidence show that creating a lottery in the Palmetto state

probability types
John Schofield's article in the Personal Finance section contributes a number of calculations to Maclean's Magazine. The expectations were based on the payoffs of the September 7, 1996, $10,000,000 lottery. At the time the amount was quite unusual. He used the amount $2,217,321 which was the jackpot a week earlier, and which is a more typical figure. Provided below are some useful information concerning Lotto, both probability calculations and strategies.

What is the real meaning of Memorial Day
Quote: Originally posted by justxploring on May 28, 2006 Historically it's a day to remember the men women who died while serving in the military. But to many it's just the beginning of summer or the end of the school year and a 3 day weekend (not for me) to get away from work. I guess if someone has lost a loved one, Memorial Day can be a special day to pay a visit to his or her grave, whether or not he/she was in the military. When I grew up, it was always May 30. I'm not sure when it wa

Lotto winner faces financial decisions
OK. So you've won the lottery.
Now comes the hard part. How do you manage all those millions?
The Florida Lottery jackpot is expected to top $82 million for tonight's Lotto drawing -- the seventh-largest jackpot ever in Florida. And the chance of picking all six numbers is 1 in 22,957,480.
Still, you've got to dream. (For nonlottery players, those dreams probably will mean frustratingly slower lines at convenience stores today.)
If a sole winner chooses to take the jackpot over 30

How do you claim a $267,000,000 prize?
Sure, that's the obvious thing to do once you have a winning ticket...
What's for sure, though, I am not going to hire an attorney just
to find out.... beforehand.
I would like to learn more about this, and I'm sure most of those
reading this post feel the same way. I think it would be nice if
someone knowledgeable were to share this type of info here.
I just read an interesting news story mentioning that the lucky one

Man claims Powerball lottery prize just before it was due to expire
With only two hours left, Jose Luis Martinez of Roswell walked into New Mexico Lottery headquarters and claimed a $200,000 Powerball prize that was about to expire.
Martinez told lottery officials that he had carried the ticket in his wallet the entire 90 days, but never got around to checking it.
The deadline, 90 days from the date of the January 7, 2006, drawing, would have been April 7, at 4:30 pm, when the Lottery's claim center closed for the weekend.
Two days ago, Martinez and his
