Can Excel do this?
let's say 312 is in cell A1
to get the front pair(31) put this in cell B1
=LEFT(A1,2)
to get the back pair(12) put this in cell C1
=RIGHT(A1,2)
to get the bookends(32) put this in cell D1
=CONCATENATE(LEFT(A1,1),RIGHT(A1,1))
I'm not so sure about the repeating numbers from a single cell without a vba macro of some sort. I'll start working on that one...

Winning Scratch Offs
Amazing Grace
I have to disagree with you on this:
In my mind yer better off playing pick 3.
Pick 3's are an all or nothing affair, unless you're talking front pair / back pair - which jacks up the price of the ticket.
If someone is playing a Pick 3 every day and someone else is playing a scratcher everyday, the scratcher player is going to win something eventually- the Pick 3 player may never hit.
If the Pick 3 player is playing pairs also that's a $3 ticket- once again, s

P4 Tripps Trap
I first noticed it in MO, but it can happen in other states which tend to draw Tripple numbers , and it is kinda Vtrac for P4 only :
I am using Adolf's Conversion numbers ( Thank you Adolf ) which are :
Quick Lottery Convertions
0=1,5,9 1=0,6,9 2=4,7 3=6,8
4=7,8,9 5=0,7 6=1,3,9 7=2,5
8=3,4 9=0,1,4
You have to look for any draw result with the same digit in the front (front Pair AACD ... 1123 ), or in the back ( Back Pair ABDD ....

Pairs: Front, Back & Split
During the year you can expect about 100 doubles for a 365 game.
On average you can expect 1/3 to be a loaded front pair double...1/3 loaded back pair... and 1/3 split double.
I usually look back and hope I catch the doubles all leaning in one direction or 2. If I do ..... then I go with the other most due 1/3 group.
Keep a running count on the balance of doubles
Same for the swing numbers or Pivot numbers that hit with doubles... if you see the last 5 or 6 of these dig

How many days without a winner...
before it's back to the draeing board?
I've been tracking a couple of Pick 3 selection methods, both with paper trading and live bets, and in 25 draws (evening) zip, zilch, nada - not even a box.
There were two two digits out of three, but I don't play front pair / back pair.
So my question is, would you continue tracking and playing, figuring it's going to pop, or back to the drawing board ?
