175 Million
Lottery players, including some victims of Katrina, will spent more than that playing the lotteries this week alone. Lottery players who are interested in contributing to victims of Katrina can contribute their lottery funds directly instead of buying lotteries tickets until the crisis is over. Also maybe the winners of those jackpots can request that the government gives all the taxes they will have to pay to the victims of Katrina. Good luck to you.RJOh

175 Million
That's never going to happen. The lottery officials aren't just going to hand over two big jackpots. Why should they? Maybe the government should do something instead.

next mm hit
You should have paid more attention to other games with similar jackpots. I would have based the current run close to the Powerball run won on 5/28/05. You would be off only three million that way.

I Sense A Little Hostility
This is Earth or middle ground so we might find an almost balance in things here.As to jackpots, maybe it is better for more people to win smaller ammounts than for very few people to win big ones. That is if this is the case here, it might not be, because I am not familiar with those games.Peace and good luck to all.Maybe you all don't like to spread the money around, you want very few people to win very big.

I "THIN SLICED" 4 out of 6 numbers again!
Greg said You can have your impossible odds Megamillions and Powerball jackpots -- $3000./month for life is just fine for me! Well said !$40 in your hand are better than 100, 000, 000 in the sky that you might never get, let us get real, $3 000 a month for life does look real good.Let us come down to earth some, the cash 5 or pick 5 game is a really good deal, something more or less maybe with-in means of getting it when compared to almost impossible to win games like MM and PB and other pick

MM and PB jackpots
Well the trick is if the new matrix can survive no one winning both jackpots in the 200-299 range. I think it's possible but very unlikely. The current run needs no winners for the next six drawings to break 300. Just can't see that happening this drawing. Maybe in a year or two.

Pre-tax Lump Sum Calculations for MMPB
The changes in PB calculations for lump sums might get a bit confusing to people who haven't won the jackpot and would like to have some idea how much pre-tax lump would be.I'm wondering if anyone but me would like to see bannered somewhere here, current ongoing pre-tax lump sum values of the PB and MM jackpots.I'd like it, I think, provided the weather's good.Jack

PB annuity
The cash amount is going to be alot less since the advertised jackpot is with 30 years of growing payments. Pretty soon they will go with a 50 year annuity, so they can advertise 100 million jackpots on a 20 million jackpot.

Powerball lottery changes go into effect Sunday
Why would you want the PB matrix to go to 45 or 46? That would have made the odds alot worse than adding 2 white balls.Plus with keeping it at 42 PB, for really big jackpots, it is still manageable to buy 42 tickets covering every PB number.
