Washington Lottery published wrong numbers after raffle draw
Blames 'computer glitch'
A North Seattle man couldn't believe his eyes. His ticket in the lottery's Veteran's Raffle was a winner.
He checked the numbers, and then checked them again. I was so excited! I couldn't believe I had won the lottery! he said.
The problem is, he didn't. What he thought was a $1,000 winner was a dud.
I got up early and went to the lottery office, and they told me my ticket was invalid, he said.
Lottery officials say a computer glitch posted the wrong numb

A proposal to privatize the management of the Ohio Lottery Commission was submitted this week to the nonpartisan Legislative Service Commission, which researches Ohio's budgets and laws.
Gov. John Kasich, who has yet to name a lottery director, has for weeks been discussing privatizing lottery operations, though he has not made a public commitment to do so.

New - Curious... and there has got to be a better way...
Well I have been studying it...and it kinda seems like a version I am doing...but it is EXTREMELY METHODICAL and TEDIOUS. I honestly don't enjoy working on it as much as I do my own home grown version.
I do agree with you Fitzroy 4 out of 6 might only be 1000 dollars and that's good but I don't expect that as the big win. Now 5 out of 6 on a big jackpot would be really great.
I am not a paying member here yet...but there is A TREMENDOUS ARTICLE IN WIRED MAGAZINE ABOUT LOTTERY games

My digit system for pick-5 or pick-6 lottery
Unbelievable! So, then, are you telling me that you don't believe the Gambler's Fallacy is really a fallacy? If your answer is yes, then that explains why you believe that some things occure more often then others and why you're baffled that I don't agree with you.
Furthermore, what have I said at this site that gives you the impression that I want the lottery to go away? If you check, you'll find I'm on record on several occassions declaring that I play the lottery and feel the money I spend

Texas Lottery confirms that Quick Picks are not generated by "central computer"
The problem I am having with your statements is that you are being vague about where you believe there is manipulation.
When we are talking about rigging a drawing , that specifically refers to altering the lottery drawing machine -- or the balls that get drawn from it -- in order to make certain numbers come out.
Now, if you are saying that Texas is controlling the outcome, that is the only way I know to do that, because if the drawing in NOT rigged -- it is entirely random -- then ANY CO

Bill would allow gifts for California lottery workers
Tucked inside California's thick budget package is a bill that allows the state lottery director to spend money on employee gifts, a practice that came under scrutiny after staff members were treated to a $46,336 party last year.
Guests took home a Nintendo Wii console, iPods, cameras and other rewards.
Under the bill passed by lawmakers, Lottery Director Joan Borucki would have the legal authority to spend money on employee incentives as part of California's push to increase lottery sales
