Trojans all over the place!! HELP!
Thanks to everyone for your help. I haven't tried the f8 move yet* but I did get rid of comwiz.exe, and favorites.exe is nowhere to be found now. Still have winnet.exe...what the heck is it anyway? A search for winnet says it's in the Address Bar folder, but the only folders with that name are the files quarantined by Spybot. Also thank for the tips...I've got Norton 2003 (with the latest downloads**), Ad-aware, and Spybot. I understand Microsoft used to have a free reg clean but it's not

The first thing you should do before adding any new software is to download any updates for your operating system and browser. Tools > Windows Update from your browser. This takes you to Microsoft Updates. Sometimes the updates will resolve the security holes and your problems will cease. I have had some of the software that has been recomended, and it doesn't stop everything. It is a good idea to have some kind of firewall setup like Todd recomended. But without updating your OS you lessen

Lotto synchronizer big test
Wilsel,Again, you're missing the point. I do not care if you have differing views on something. It is your nature of viciously bashing a company even though you don't appear to be in a knowledgeable position to form a logical argument. That is what I define as a wanna-be.And yes, I question the IT experience of anyone who bashes something or someone without backing it up with facts. It's like someone bashing a lottery system here as being stupid without saying why. I have no problem with t

Lotto synchronizer big test
Todd,This is going nowhere. You took exception to my views on Microsoft which has nothing to do with my IT experience. The problem was your trying to validate your opinion by questioning the IT experience of those that have differing views.I will not continue this dialog because it does not change my opinion.BTW I have 30 years plus in all facets of IT. There is not an area of IT that I have not been involved in. Wait I lied .... I have not spent a lot of time with security and SANS. Only becaus

willsell,You are wrong in trying to size up who I am or what roles I play. I am also not on a sensitive trip - I think you are though. I never brought up what you thought about my experience - I specifically made mention of YOUR lack of experience. It was a good try on your part to try and turn things around, but it didn't work. You didn't debate any of the points in question, but instead tried to take pot shots at me.Unless you can tell me about your experience in the IT world, I'm sorry, b

I don't know if zone alarm has an option that lets you approve or deny individual connections as they happen... I haven't used zone alarm in a long time... I have norton personal firewall ever since going with the cablemodem... but when I went to alexa my first e-mail didn't arrive. I re-submitted it and set the firewall to warn , which gave me the option of yes/no for each port it wanted to open... after that it went right through.Didn't zone alarm allow you to set access by application? you c

Can anyone write a program for a circle w
Little Old Lady,Your example made it look like you want all combinations of the numbers.... This is a binomial distribution, and many programs (including Microsoft Excel) can do that. The problem with that, is that it gets quite expensive rather quickly. In your example with 5 numbers, playing 5 numbers would be $1, playing 6 numbers would be $6, playing 7 numbers would be $21, playing 8 numbers $56, 9 = $126. Dimitrov, an Austrian mathematician, came up with the idea of the Wheel in which y

First, the spell check will only show up for Microsoft IE users. So if you're using Netscape, I'm afraid you can't use it.Next, you need to have the rich-text editor enabled. By default, IE users will have it enabled, so you're probably OK there. (You can check to be sure it's enabled by clicking Control Panel in the blue menu bar, then click the Board Settings option.)Then, you can find the spell checker as the small button above where you type your message text. It has a check-mark and
