Are some places luckier for you?
speaking of some places being luckier than others... an oldie, not necessarily a goodie: is this still valid? was it ever valid? what are the numbers for places where tickets are sold, versus places where numbers are actually winners? is there a place to find that information? http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1077/is_n8_v46/ai_10806123Are state lotteries stacked against Blacks? What are the odds?
Michigan just switched its Club Keno up and got rid of the extra and replaced it with Plus 3.
So now the drawings can be 10/23/80 (10 out of 23 instead of 10 out of 20).
They did not, however post all the odds for the new option as they did with the extra odds.
Is there some other state that has plus 3 on their Keno that has the odds posted? Are 10/23/80 odds ( for 1 thru 10 spots for all the different spot matches) posted somewhere else?
Also Michigan dropped the 10X Kicker

Craps Pass Line With Odds Bet - Casino Advantage
there are no systems that will increase player odds
If you have $10 on the pass line and the point is 5, the odds remain the same until the settlement is made; you'll either win or lose $10. Players can increase their payoff odds by taking free odds because the house has no advantage on that extra bet.
Lots of Craps systems are based oh hot or cold tables which in reality is making conditional bets on either. If you guess right, you'll make a profit, if you guess wrong back to the ATM.

Would They Pay It? Can They Pay It?
On a different but related topic, I have Gail Howard's Smart Luck software installed on my laptop. It's got a lottery odds calculator so I used it for C4L. It eventually confirmed the same odds listed on the back of a C4L play slip. If you make a mistake with it (like I did before I decided to follow the instructions on the Help Panel) I got a result of 5.2 million to 1 odds for second place. So perhaps when you used an online calculator you made the same mistake using it that I made using Gail

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
Hi Ed,
The odds were 1 in 672,000 on winning $100k on the Super Millions game I believe. The new $10 game is a better bet for that prize tier. I've seen piles of duds, and snagged about 10-15 to enter into the second chance drawing the other day. (To answer your post on the previous page)
As far as your discovery of this new $30 game, this looks exciting. I sometimes look at Instant Liability Reports to get a sneak peek of what new games are coming out too. It looks like the FL L

PA Millionaire Raffle- St. Patrick's Day Edition
I agree, I like the slightly better odds myself, which is why I'm so tempted to buy a few more tix.
But there is a lot of hype about the odds too.
Yes, 500,000 to 4 odds is mathematically the same as 125,000 to 1. But that's only on paper.
To be able to see why I say there's a lot of hype about the odds think of the drawing this way:
In the old days they used to put 100,000 paper lottery tickets in a huge drum, spin it around for a while to mix up the tickets, then they opened the do

New multi-state lottery game launches Sunday
The problem with that is by advertising dynamic odds, the odds would inherently change. If a player sees odds of 1 in 2 million and decides to buy a ticket then that would subsequently change the odds (and on and on). It opens up the lottery to liability with false advertising etc. Plus, it would have the same effect as the rolling jackpots. Players would just wait to play until the odds are good (much like they wait until the jackpot is big enough). For the lottery it is just simpler this way.

Playing PB with The Power Play in New York?
It looked to me like GiveFive was comparing the odds of winning $2 million in one game to the odds of winning the same amount in another game. If the odds were exactly the same against winning $1 million and for the same two bucks, you get one PB ticket and two Sweet Million tickets. One $3 Powerplay ticket gives you one chance at $2 million and three $1 tickets with the same numbers gives you one chance at $3 million.
For the same price, one way you get two chances compared to one for the sa

Do some number combinations have better odds?
I was just trying to explain that you cannot change the odds
You can change your odds by making extra bets, but the one thing you can't change is the 1 behind the odds.
I'd think that you should understand that your bets never have a better chance of winning than any other bet - but I'm not sure.
Playing 28 numbers doesn't magically reduce the odds to 98,280 to 1, but there is a probability you'll get those odds once in 39 drawings.
I mean, you can figuratively use the term beat

Why Do Mathematicians Consider The Lottery Random
What I was trying to say was that he will lose over time because he is playing 6500 combos for a 65 percent chance of winning 9000 dollars.
Well he said he's betting .25 cents each, so the payout and price would be a quarter of that, but with the same principle.
He's also playing those smaller pools, in which, I'm assuming he wagers more - which would increase his volitility, so it'd increase the chances of him coming out ahead, OR behind the odds of winning.
Either way,
