Part of me is wondering if the clerk and manager on duty were just clueless too? It's no different than any store with vending machines that are not responsible for the machines. In this case the Ohio Lottery is the vendor and I'm betting there are instructions on the machine for cashing tickets. BTW - there is a gas station across the street from the Rite Aid, so I just took it over there. Problem solved!

They're big ole vending machines. Idaho's sell all the online games (Powerball, Megamillions, Wild Card, etc.) and a bunch of scratch offs, tho not as many as the c-store counters usually sell. They also have scanners that will actually tell you the value of your ticket. The stand-alone scanners that all the stores have tell you if you have a winner, but it doesn't tell you how much. Ok, Played Billion Dollar Blockbuster from Instant vending machine ticket number 028 hit 500.00. While I was getting the pay out for that, the cashier had BDB sitting on 21 and that has been lucky for me so I got it too and got 25.00 on that one, too. I'm fairly certain that I've seen it in the Kroger vending machine down the street but I can't be certain. I'll make a point of looking for it the next time I go out to purchase a ticket. Have you asked them when they receive their shipments? It's always useful to figure out what their procedures are.
