Fingers and Toes, Here We Go!
Fingers and Toes, Here We Go!
Number systems adopted by people over the centuries have been based most often on the number of fingers and toes humans have evolved, but not all. Notable exceptions are the modern ones based on binary digits which are useful in the world of on/off conditions in electronic computers. For computational efficiency, before computers, a base Twelve system would have been a better choice for us than Ten. This article discusses the Base Twelve or Duodecimal system as w

Statistician cracks secret code behind lottery tickets
Is the apparent randomness of the scratch ticket just a facade, a mathematical lie?
The call came around 3 a.m. Toronto time, which was midnight in Nevada where Doug Hartzell was sleeping. It was his old friend, Mohan Srivastava, phoning from Canada.
He called me and said, 'Man, I think I'm losing it. But I see a pattern in scratch lottery tickets,' said Hartzell, recalling that 2003 conversation.
My reaction almost instantly was like: I'm sure he's right.

How To Make "Pick 4 Money" Playing Pick 3
The 7 and 8 Day Strategy
Today is Monday July 12, 2010.
If you have been following my predictions for a while you will have noticed that my numbers show up in other states a lot.
That 901 I have been predicting for a while DID show up today .in Florida.
This happens at least once a week; a number in my hit list will not show up in NY but it will show up in another state.
So if you play other states, play my numbers. You are bound to hit, maybe once or twice a week.

Best jackpot advice yet
We were watching TLC last night when they showed the lottery programs.
When David Edwards came on my wife said he sounded likedecent guy. I told her people on LP said he was just like Jack Whitaker. She asked why so I looked on the net (couldn't remember exactly what he had done) and found this.
Considering all our threads here about What would you do if you won $ _ _ _ million , this is well worth reading (my bolding, article on blue background):

Employee hacks into online poker site
A leading Internet poker site said Friday that a hacker exploited a security flaw to gain an insurmountable edge in high-stakes, no-limit Texas holdem tournaments the ability to see his opponents' hole cards.
The cheater, whose illegitimate winnings were estimated at between $400,000 and $700,000 by one victim, was an employee of AbsolutePoker.com who hacked the system to show that it could be done, a spokesman for the company anonymously told a reporter.
This is literally a geek trying

Newspaper analyzes Fla. Lottery education funding
Editor: This highly biased newspaper article was published in Boca Raton News on Friday, April 27. It is presented here to educate lottery players about an unfortunately common form of so-called analysis , which in reality is nothing more than slanted opinions of certain journalists, who seek only the information that will support their narrow agenda.

State run lotteries generate in excess of $50 billion a year nationwide.
State run lotteries are fond of saying how much of

Setting a trust for anonymity: how does it work?
Sorry about the delay in replying... a couple of days ago I had posted a couple of links to some news stories (about what generally happens to large jackpot lottery winners) in my message and my account was suspended on suspicion of spamming... Anyhow, thanks to Todd and his gracefulness, I'm online again...
Thank you so much, joshuacloack, for taking the time to contribute here your wisdom... it is very much appreciated. The problem with setting two trusts, IMHO, with the second one being a

Gambling pushed banker to steal $1.4 million
Deb Anderson didn't begin her 27-year banking career as a thief.
She started as a teller at Pioneer Bank, the lender in her hometown of 3,300 on the outskirts of Sioux City. She won promotions, despite a lack of college or any formal training in banking or accounting. By 1991 she was named cashier - a respected and powerful job at most community banks.
I had a tremendous amount of trust in her and her position, bank President Richard Aadland said.
But in 1996, 18 years into her career

Vampire Numbers!!
Dear pick(3-4) hunters!!!
I found this article and I think it's very interesting!!!
I know you are asking, what the heck is a vampire number!? I don't blame you, that's exactly what I thought when I bumped into them. Well, here's the story.... It all began when I happened to read the Brain Bogglers page in the June '95 issue of Discover magazine. I noticed that the author was Clifford Pickover, whom I knew from some of the fractal programs that I have of his, and from some of the
