2 years of Mass Millions losing
I see the Mass Millions jackpot was last won 4/4/02. Nice to see they are coming up to the 2 year anniversary of losing, with the jackpot plodding upwards at about $330,000 a drawing, now at $49 mil. That's a lot of money, but there's no excitement, news or publicity - and no increase in sales. In fact, the jackpot increase is getting smaller even as the jackpot grows. lt increased $356,000 between drawings on a $9 million jackpot in Dec 2002. 200 drawings without a winner. It will be so nice

NY Mega Winners........
Players in NY spanked the Mega 2nd prize with 18 winners, as far as I can remember that is a record here in NY. I know that does not take away the fact that Virginia found GOLD the Mother of Jackpots $230 million buckos........ catching my breath..... God what a feeling that lucky person is living right now. I would hire a body guard immediately. Well just my 2 cents, let's try to hit the 9999 combo here in NY I would be very happy with $5,000 anytime. LOL!Mink404Ski

How often do you buy lottery?
My statistics are very similar:I spend $4 per week on Powerball no matter what the jackpot level usually playing either 1 quick-pick and 1 my-pick or 2 quick-picks per draw. I usually play the quick-picks for 5 advance draws.I spend $4 per week on 6/49 Megabucks (only if it's at or near record levels) ...otherwise I devote these funds to purchase Powerplay on my Pb tickets. Above $60M I drop Powerplay option for extra tickets. If the Pb jackpot reaches $100M I usually spend more per draw. If the

Expected Return
Well that may be the key to the discrepancy, Jake, and my calculation that the MegaMillions right now has a slightly favorable expectation value. I don't factor in taxes. People of course pay taxes on all kinds of income and usually report their earnings before taxes when asked How much do you make? They do this on stock valuations as well. So it seems to me that the calculation of a return on the ticket should be a before tax, rather than after tax calculation. It is worth noting tha

Zillion/1?
Abnormal dvent? Sure. Unusual? Uh, huh. Possibility? Yes. It's a game with comparatively few possibilities, given the conditions under which ordinary lotteries operate. When a game is drawn, those numbers are set - part of the record, etched in stone, whatever. The chances of drawing those same numbers the next game are still 1::18,424. No going into probability, no nothing. If that game is drawn once a day, 365 days a year, the odds are that this dvent will occur once every 50 years or so witho

MM sets a new record

The winning numbers were low which probably influenced the number of winners. The largest number of jackpot winners was 3 on Nov 11,

Overdue Numbers
Rick G. That is interesting. How did that number perform before or after that month. Just curious. I wonder if that's a record for the U.S. Did you notice anything else during that time that was going on? Things like an unusual amount of say..... straights or doubles etc. Had you noticed anything unusual happening just before this digit tanked? Thanks. Let us know what time and what digit that was..... perhaps that might be interesting to someone in another state. We might find out it was hidi
