Texas Lottery chief may lose job over jackpot snafu
California has been doing this for years with SuperLotto, but they guarantee the jackpots instead of estimating them. Does this mean California has to change too?

Powerball is on a winners streak again!
I don't think anyone who has won a 10million dollar jackpot is complaining about their new found fortunes. They may wish it were higher, but I bet you will never see anyone give it back and say I think I will wait until the jackpot gets larger .The 10 mill. also gives the true players a more funds to bet on those larger jackpots also if they wish to obtain a larger sum.I know this comment many tick some of you off, but I'd welcome any big jackpot that's going to pay me anything over a half a mi

Powerball is on a winners streak again!
If powerball had the matrix I suggested (185 million to one) plus the they dumped the rule for record pots only going up by a meager amount they would have jackpots Mega couldn't reach.

Texas Lottery chief could face punishment for inflated jackpots
Mr. Greer should lose his job over the issue. Texans should e-mail the governor and ask for Mr. Greer to get fired. Also the TxLotto should be made a no bonus ball 6/59 game. From this point forward: Texas doesn't want bonus ball games at all.The jackpots should be in tenths of millions such as 4.5, 5.2, etc.

Is this too much to spend on the lotto?
Thats too much! You should do the money market thing, go to www.emigrantdirect.com and open up an account. Spend any lottery money on the larger jackpots that come out 4 or 5 times a year; and above all things, develop a strategy to come out of debt.

Powerball is on a winners streak again!
True. I only play the game which currently has the higher jackpot (although with MM recently changing its matrix, its annuity jackpot has to be at least 20% higher than Powerball's), but MM's pots have gone over $100 million so many times it's boring. I wish their jackpots would get hit below $100 million as well. It doesn't seem quite right that it only happens to Powerball, especially since they have a lower player:odds ratio.

What is better?
I agree, better odds is my choice over humongous jackpots but all in all I'm glad we have both. It's fun to dream about hitting one of those big puppies.

Are we seeing the results of CA?
Yeah, the rollovers are getting a bit bigger, but not by much. They changed the matrix for nothing - already Mega Millions has had four consecutive $100+ million jackpots (under the old matrix) compared to Powerball having only one this year.

What is better?
There's really good points/bad points about both games. Another perspective is play both games. Chances are luck/fate has you winning, if any, only one of those jackpots, Which game will it be, if any?Play both

Powerball winner
The reason I wanted a Connecticut PB winner is that all three previous CT jackpots were won when PB was annuity-only. We've waited since 1997 for a Connecticut PB winner to take the lump sum.
