Someone winning $600K after splitting with pool...
Not that much to consider... Especially would be rough if they had to split that..lol
I am starting my 8th PB pool today... That has been really fun... Each pool has either 5 to 10 people in the pool.
I keep up with the receipts of who paid and which pool they are in. I make copies of the tickets and the people who are in the pool.
The pool 8 sold out in less than 20 minutes in Flor

Restaurant workers split $4 million lottery jackpot
You may not think about it, but deciding whether or not to participate in a pool is a decision about how much you're playing for. That and every other decision you make about playing are also decisions about the odds you're playing against. By never playing in a pool you're not reducing any prize won by your ticket, but you are reducing your chances of winning that prize compared to being in a pool. You're also reducing your chances by not buying 1000 tickets, but increasing them by not buying 0

Restaurant workers split $4 million lottery jackpot
justxploring, I read something a long while back on just that subject! From what I remember, it said, as long as you bought the pool tickets at one store and then made your personal purchase/numbers at another store, then there shouldn't be any conflict! But if you were to purchase all tickets at the same store and the others in the pool knew that, then you are bound to have a court battle on your hands if your numbers won! Best thing to do is to buy the pool tickets at one store and then a fe

questions on pools & past experiences
If you are asking about the status of a deceased member of a pool, my answer is to address that on the original agreement. If someone dies after contributing to a pool, of course his family is entitled to his share. After all, he paid for the ticket. However, if that person dies and no further contributions are made, then he is no longer an active member. I've read where retired people and former employees have continued to play in a pool that eventually won, so I don't see why the family can

Restaurant workers split $4 million lottery jackpot
I understand what you are writing, but one reason we see so many pools win is that the odds increase quite a bit when 16 or 20 people are buying tickets. If you have enough of your own money (or don't mind blowing it) to buy that many tickets, then maybe a pool isn't for you. I think it's great that all those people won and I agre with tntea it would be very exciting.
However, I also agree that I wouldn't want to split a jackpot 16 ways if I used my own numbers. I've been playing my own nu

Lottery pool
Bob27,
Have you given any thought to running a fantasy pool? That way pool members could just post 10 combinations on the prediction board which would simulate them giving you $10 to play for them and you could get a feel for what it takes to run a lottery pool over the Internet with a bunch of strangers and forget about the math skills. That's kind of lottery pool might stir some interest among LP members. Good luck to you.
