Yeah, Mega Millions sales are slowing a bit, but it's still higher than the Powerball sales at that particular jackpot level. As someone once said, players of Powerball and Mega Millions don't want lots of winners; they want high jackpots.

It's just a shining example of why they needed to change a long time ago. A big run increases sales for the runs after the big jackpot is hit. If a game stagnates and doesn't have a decent jackpot then it's sales drop due to a lack of interest in the game. Big jackpots are great for marketing and for sales.

i think one of the reasons would be mega millions has higher jackpots more often.then you have that match 5 rule where the jackpot can't get but to a certain amount.also mega millions pay out more if you match all 5 numbers correctly.........

Just my opinion:Mega Millions States.Before California: Population 120m Odds 135m:1 After California: Population 155m Odds 176m:1In both cases, the population is 88% of the odds. I think we will see the same number of rollovers as before, and the same number of winners, just the jackpots will have a higher average.

Lotto 5 wins 5-2. Either it's getting good matchups, or it's just a product of Tennesseeans just happy to finally get a lottery. Because theres nothing really special about it. It doesn't have a match 2 prize, and one can find jackpots of that size with OH's Rolling Cash 5, and less often with PA's Cash 5. Just an observation.

If they did combine, the Jackpots would be huge. However, I don't think it's possible. Powerball and MM are very competitive.

Just a guess ..but I think the mega will out perform the pb and that dventually they will merge. Before that happens the mega will increase the gold ball to 52 or 56...mostly because the jackpots will be won quicker than they thought...but that is just a guess...or is it??? lol
