Is NY Lotto the world's worst game?
I don't know why you complain about it. Try the new WA lotto. The prize never breaks 5 million (as an annuity) and it's computer drawn. Pretty crappy for a 1:7 million game. Even Oregon has a better state lottery game.

Record Euro Millions lottery winner goes into hiding
Maybe. But she was robbed of the opportunity to take the annuity just to spite you. Likely it's all ashes for her, winning without being offered a comparison between her jackpot and how they'd have done it in NY.J

Hot Lotto Winner?! Already?!
It only took a $1.8 million annuity jackpot to get won this time.

Largest single jackpot winner
I agree with this CASH Only. I don't care about the cash option, just the annuity value part. However, PB sales are lacking because of more jackpot winners of 100 million or less. Without CA playing MM, sales will suffer too.

cash vs. annuity
Lottery players tend to be older than the general population. As such, they're not going to take a 25- or 30-year annuity payment if they're in their late 30s or older.

Euro Millions at $136 million dollars!!
Yes, such a ridiculous jackpot! Wish I could get a ticket!Maybe there could be a side note on the Jackpots page that lists what the equivalent value would be if it were advertised here as pre-tax annuity, just for accurate comparison to MM and PB.

Connecticut Gov. considers dumping Powerball
o-man:You have good points. I believe we need more than one LP member from NY to be effective in making changes in the NY lottery. When I visit stores that sell NY Lottery tickets, I watch to see if anyone plays NY Lotto (terrible prizes) and politely tell the customer Mega Millions is a much better game. Same thing with scratch-offs, if the game(s) bought is/are annuity-only, and/or any of the three versions of Lose for Life .

Massachusetts lottery ticket recycling program successful
OK, even though it would have been an annuity (which, I personally, would take, sorry Cash ), it still doesn't change the fact that someone might sue another person or company claiming wrongful possession of the tickets (even though they are BEARER INSTRUMENTS) and would still lead us to the fact that people need to CHECK THEIR TICKETS FULLY BEFORE THROWING THEM AWAY OR RECYCLING THEM!!BTW, I also think this is a good program, just as long as no one is sued for it.

New Game
The good thing about this game is that you can increase your stakes for an extra dollar or two. You can enter all three prize pools at once if you want. I think this might be my flagship game. Also, now that I think about it, the Big Easy should probably start at $800,000 30-year annuity value (with a cash option). That would make signs a lot less confusing.

Connecticut Gov. considers dumping Powerball
smd:I like the change to the annuity. I wish PA would offer a cash option for UfL or retire the game (instead of switching the draw nights).
