Why Play?
wrt jackpot games...i play because despite odds jackpots are won and therefore can be won if you have a ticket...and because they still use numbered balls and mechanical machines for most jackpot draws...and it really isn't that expensive staying active in a jackpot gamei also play pick 3 and 4 occasionally because i like the increased complexity and ticket variations offered filling out the play cardscurrently i p3 doubles

Michigan Winfall to be eliminated on May 14
I like the game of winfall. Too bad they have to get rid of it. It was a good game but sales were just not up to par. And now we have to go back to a boring game again like Classic Lotto. Oh well maybe we will get some higher jackpots now.Brad

Overstating the Jackpot
Those are estimated Jackpots. Powerball said 19 Million for Saturday Night. The jackpot was only 18.7. In other words not enough tickets sales to support a whole 19 million. Sometimes it can be underestimated. Like when the $25.5 million jackpot was won here in TN. It was only up to $25 million, however, they underestimated the ticket sales so they upped the jackpot by $1/2 million.

Overstating the Jackpot
I wonder what rules govern jackpot advertising. Friday's Mega Millions jackpot was $102 million. Now, if it had been advertised at $97 million, maybe sales would've been only enough to give away $97 million, not $102 million. Does a significant factor exist where a lottery can advertise a higher jackpot, and see sales increase because of it? How truthful does the lottery need to be? I guess this would apply most at high level jackpots.

tennessee lottery new online game
Yep. I wish SC and TN would join. Then jackpots may rise at 2 million between draws. However, they would need to decrease the odds a little. With more people playing more than likely it wouldn't rollover as much. But lets focus on getting lotto south right now.

New Florida Lotto

Long term post J.E.Bush I'd like to see powerball come into the state. We've got Georgia with mega millions just across the state line so that takes care of that game.

Will Powerball Rollover??
I think Powerball will roll-over...and believe that we will likely have one (or several) very nice $100++million runs prior to the changes coming on Aug 29. Powerball has been and remains a very potent mega-jackpot producer despite the fact that the participating states have decided it needs tweaking. We shall see between now and the end of August just what the Powerball matrix still can do. The game in it's current form has the ability to set records and the number of jackpots hit recently is

Powerball's Match 5 Bonus Pool Rule
Quote: Originally posted by weshar75 on April 10, 2005I emailed powerball and they sent their reply back that they would not get rid of the rule because it is for greed purposes. I guess they don't want to be held to a 500 or 600 million dollar standard so we will just have to settle for 340 million and 50 to 100 other millionaires. They also said they slow the growth of record jackpots because some people play only for a record, and if they hit a record of $700 million this year, they miss

Powerball Lottery States Vote to Change Game
Me Big jackpots require big odds. I want to play for a $1 billion jackpot and I would play a game with 300m:1 odds.
