Connecticut Gov. considers dumping Powerball
Gee CASH, I thought you'd be all happy since they are changing the payout structure on the annuity to the point where it will almost force people to take the lump sum.

Connecticut Gov. considers dumping Powerball
If she does not like powerball's odds then she definitely won't like mega millions and they would not let a small state in any ways. That graduated annuity sure does blow chunks I think I will take the cash when I win.

If no one wins tonight's MM
If you go to www.ohiolottery.com they give you a more accurate cash value. For the current jackpot of $122 million, they say the cash value would be $74,526,628. So I just divided the cash value by $122 million which gave me 61.0874 %. So the cash value is 61.0874 % of the annuity. I just multiplied $158 million by that percentage (.610874) to get $96,518,092. Ofcourse the % amount changes all the time but it gives you a little more accurate figure.

Texas Lottery executive had no hint before firing
I think corrupt is the wrong word. Corrupt indicates that they are intentionally seeking to undermine the public trust, but I think in the case of their annuity scratch games, they believe they're doing the right thing.Personally, I think you'd make more headway with a more reasoned approach. Calling them corrupt will not make the NY Lottery stand up and take notice -- it will probably make them feel dismissive of you.Your choice.

Man sues Mass. Lottery for $1 million prize mistake
I don't think he plays a lot of annuity only games. I could see him playing the Canadian lottery though since the prize is cash only.

Man sues Mass. Lottery for $1 million prize mistake
After he went to all that trouble to scratch a 7 and 11, which he wouldn't have done if he'd not believed that's what he had to do to win, they ought to just hand over the annuity to him.... after all, it's worthless. I know because I've been brainwashed into believing it by constant repitition of bumper sticker slogans about it from CO.Jack

Powerball is on a winners streak again!
True. I only play the game which currently has the higher jackpot (although with MM recently changing its matrix, its annuity jackpot has to be at least 20% higher than Powerball's), but MM's pots have gone over $100 million so many times it's boring. I wish their jackpots would get hit below $100 million as well. It doesn't seem quite right that it only happens to Powerball, especially since they have a lower player:odds ratio.

Powerball winner
The reason I wanted a Connecticut PB winner is that all three previous CT jackpots were won when PB was annuity-only. We've waited since 1997 for a Connecticut PB winner to take the lump sum.

MegaMillions Annuity Payout Schedule
the lump sum is the actual amount of money the lotteries have to pay out the jackpot. the annuity is the lump sum invested in securities that mature in 26 years (in this case). they have it figured out so each payment is equal and that the total of the payments equals the jackpot won.
