Powerball changing, will you still play?
There is no reason to slow jackpots. The sales from a mega jackpot is really what these games are all about. It's just the old, pathetic attitude that you shouldn't really be rich and people shouldn't have too much money. Megamillions at least got that right and when they fix their game it will replace powerball in sales.

The best thing for a state to do is just not advertise Powerball, just advertise in-state games. The big jackpots will sell themselves, Powerball needs no advertising (well it might right now). When Florida finally joins PB (they can't join MM because they're full up after CA joined), it should be done with absolutely no fanfare, and no advertising. Just a small press release, and that's it.

Powerball Jackpot.
The Powerball jackpot is $19 million again. This means there will be another winner Saturday. I'm going to get myself a ticket because of that, even though IL Lotto and Mega Millions both have larger jackpots (I'm playing IL Lotto as well).

Powerball changing, will you still play?
i'd definitely play, even if the price were raised to $2, even if they kept the match 5 bonus, even though i hate it, even if it's harder to win, even if they add a drawing... you know what i mean. the possibility of seeing enormous jackpots if worth it. also, there's going to be a day when lottery tickets start costing $5 and $10 a play. remember IN's Max 5?

Too many players winning Powerball, lottery says
Well changing hot lotto to a 6/49 format would fix that.Powerball has been adding states but doing nothing to address that. They also need to change the current lame rules regarding record jackpots. If they want to keep their current game it would only tick off the current member states as they look at the falling sales. I just wonder if they have had any meetings with the current states about the status of the game and any possible changes.

i e-mailed the FL lottery a while ago, and they said it would happen within 3 years, but they are worried on the impact it would have on their in-state lotto. FL needs to understand that the players want to play a multi-sate game, and that the big jackpots that a multi-state game brings in will generate more sales than those that will be lost when theFL Lotto jackpot, which gets hit just about every drawing, so the jackpot does not get too high, has to decrease.

Powerball Matrix Change?
Yeah it is a product. People either buy tickets or they don't. States expecting a certain amount of money from the lottery have to make up the difference somewhere else (usually more tax) if sales fail to meet expectations. That arguement would be like saying Microsoft or Adobe products should be less then 20$ because the price of pressing cd's is only pennies.Lotteries have far more competition from online gaming and small casino's then in the past. It also doesn't help that people got jaded to

Powerball changing, will you still play?
These games are supposed to be super hard to win. That's why they have big jackpots. That's just the way the lottery is. Of course I'd still play if they increased the matrix.
