Buying More Tickets Does Not Increase Your Odds.
Stack47, On prop bets if the player doesn't say anything the bet stays up (the house wants to keep it in action). If they want the bet back they say down . $5 on 12 would be $155 and down if they wanted the bet back. The odds bets on the Pass line and Come bets, and Don't Pass and Don't come are the only bets in a casino that pay true odds, but you have to make the flat bet to take or lay the odds, thus the house still has an edge. Custer was a Don't bettor - Vegas saying. The game

Buying More Tickets Does Not Increase Your Odds.
Well, the simple fact you are doing subtraction and not division means that you don't know how to calculate odds. I told myself I would not do this, but heck, I'll give it one more shot. If the odds of winning something are 1 in 10 (if you buy 1 ticket), and you buy 5 tickets, are your new odds 1 in 5? Because that's what you just said. Subtract 10 - 5 and you get 5. 1 in 5, right? Of course not. That would be ludicrous. The new odds after buying 5 tickets would be 5 in 10, or (in reduc

Are pre-draws corrupting your lottery strategy ?
The odds are 1 in 1000. If I flip a coin, the odds are 50/50 (Well technically 49/51, but let's ignore that and call it 50/50). That doesn't mean that if I flip it twice I'll have a heads and a tails, just in the same way that you won't see every number show over 1000 draws. The chance of you having one heads and one tails is 50%, while there's a 25% chance of either two head OR two tails. The same can be applied to Pick 3, understanding that the odds are 1 in 1000, but also do t

Calif. store sells $2M lottery ticket 1 month after starting sales
I bought quite a lot of California Set for Life Tickets but never won more than 10 dollars. In fact, most of them are losers. If you look at the table of odds, Set for Life is one of the worst ticket to buy, despite its claim that its winning odds are 1 in 5.82. Here's why. Take a look at Set for Life table of odds, a $5 ticket: Now, compare that to Wild 10, another $5 ticket: The odds of winning a decent amount like $50 bucks from Wild 10 are 1 in 185 while the odds of win

Why Do Mathematicians Consider The Lottery Random
I think more simulations would have been necessary, the 50000 simulations done showed it to be a 47/50000 chance, in other words, close to 1 in 100, which has nothing really to do with averages, Currently there are 10 bonus numbers (including RB28) that are no shows in the last 50 drawings and of those only 2 bonus numbers are no shows in the last 100. RB28 is the only bonus number not drawn in the last 125 drawings. I believe the simulation was ran to determine the odds of a bonus number m

Scratch off methods.
From the above example, the total possible winnings are $108,122. That averages out to a possible play of $18,020.33 Now lets compare this with a $5 ticket, Holiday Gifts. The overall odds are 1:3.99, with a top payout of $250,000. The possible prizes on this ticket are: $50, $150, $250, $3(will never happen), $25, $2500, $8, $25,000, $250,000, $375, $4(nope), $2(never gonna happen), $200, $1000. The total possible winnings are $279,567, assuming that you won all of the prizes. It is an avera

How does your state's lottery odds compare with other states? Are they fair?
Pennsylvania has very high lottery odds overall. The Instant Games / Scratch-offs have high ticket prices and high odds. It is not just the Instant Games, it's other games as well. Some states seem to have better games, odds and prizes than others. Single state lotteries have better odds than multiple state lotteries. For example, single state lotteries may average odds of 18 million to 1. Where as, multiple states lotteries may average odds of 120 million to 1. Ho

Odds Don't Change When Jackpot Goes UP
It's not coverage, it's versus like a battle. The enemy has 100,000 troops and you are alone scouting, if you attack the odds are 1in100,000 or 1 versus 100,000. Your buddy shows up, the odds are now 2vs100,000 or 1in50,000 because each of your share to take on is half the 100,000. Two more of your guys show up, the odds are now 4vs100,000 or 1in25,000. Four more of your guys show up, the odds are now 8vs100,000 or 1in 12,500. Eight more of your guys show up, the odds are no

odds are reduced
Of course the whole debate could possibly be just a matter of the way in which people choose to define what odds are. If you want to define your odds as the favorable outcomes within the total amount of outcomes possible, then two different 6 of 49 combinations would indeed give you the odds of 2:13,983,816 - That should be observed as 2 in 13,983,816 and could easily be written as the fraction 2/13,983,816 or 1/6,991,908 when reduced. If you want to define odds as a RATIO of favorable out

Win Your Lottery by Lotto-Logix Is Now Available
The odds given for the 2 if 3 wheel aka 2in8 system aren't intended to mislead. The intent is to provide accurate odds for a conditional event. In the Pick-3 game there are 220 boxed numbers if we count the triples and 210 if we don't. So the odds of winning Pick-3 box are always 1 in 220 or 1 in 210 regardless of anything we do besides buying more tickets, no escaping this fact. However, there are also odds for everything that can happen in this game. The 2in8 system only make
