More Hot Lotto States.
i think that if they moved the drawings to mondays/thursdays or tuesdays/fridays, or had more drawings a week, the jackpots could get higher faster, and then more states may opt to join.

Hurricane disrupts Florida Lotto sales
Thanks to Frances and Charley, this week's jackpot is the smallest in 5 yearsThis week's $2 million Florida Lotto jackpot is the smallest since the state went to twice-a-week jackpots in 1999. Bad weather is taking the blame.Lottery revenues plummeted after mandatory evacuations were ordered during hurricanes Charley and Frances. When you have state-ordered evacuations in place, we aren't going to say, 'Stay put and sell lottery tickets,' said lottery spokeswoman Leslie D. Steele. Jackpots a

Mass. Lottery rolls out new game
i think the annuity-only feature was not a good idea, and the fact that the annuities were only for 20 years wasn't a good idea either. they really should have extended the annuity period so they could advertise bigger jackpots. another idea would be to not offer free bets. if the lotteries were trying to stop compulsive gambling, then a free bet is not the way. a small cash prize, such as $2-3 would be a better idea.

America needs a National Lottery!
I like Mega Millions and Powerball as the US national lotteries . I think it would be terrible to have one lottery covering every state, because either the odds would be too long, or the jackpots would never get very big.Teaparty, please don't post that response about the Mass Lottery every time a thread like this comes around, because I'm not in business to provide free advertising for the Massachusetts Lottery.

Does TN release the jackpots for the next Lotto 5 drawing? If so, could somebody please fill me in on the next jackpot amount?

CA Super Lotto Plus $95 million
especially when the state is CA. i understand that they have a huge population, but i wouldn't be surprised if they are doing something they shouldn't in order to have these huge jackpots.

I think the lottery is Rigged
If they are rigged then why the crappy low jackpots in both powerball and megamillions? They would make a $400 million jackpot happen just to get the money from it. Instead both games haven't hit the $300 million mark in years and only looking less and less likely.I get more suspicious of state lotteries not having any footage of their drawings than of the large games. Its all about the money in lotteries - why rig a game for crummy sales?

I think the lottery is Rigged
Quote: Originally posted by Benjamin'04 on August 26, 2004I too kinda believe that it is odd that the alrdy rich people hit the jackpots, rarley in our urban areasCould it be that rich people can afford to buy more tickets than other folks and therefore they are likely to win more often. People who can't afford to lose, shouldn't play.RJOh

Advance plays
it's a good idea for people who don't get to play the game often, and a few have even won jackpots, but if you can make it to the store for every drawing, then they are more hassle than help.

N.J. Lottery sales top $2 billion for third straight year
perhaps you should start a poll. i think that if the state doesn't offer a jackpot lotto game, then yes they should. i personally think they should because the odds are good, and the jackpots can reach multi-million dollar levels.
