Changes to ’Hot Lotto’?
Hot Lotto is a much better game than say, NY 6/59 (players win only 40% of sales), Mass 6/42 and 6/49 (both still annuity-only) and PA Match-6 ($2 per play; 2/3 of numbers are automatic QPs). Hot Lotto WILL be around a while, even if the format is changed. North Dakota will be joining by summer.

Cash or annuity ?
they probably do look at that number, but i wouldn't underestimate their knowledge of how lottery jackpots work. i wouldn't be surprised if they were aware that that is the annuity value, and that there is a cash option offered.

Probability of a rollover in PB and MM
The Megamillions jackpot has rolled over and the annuity valued jackpot has risen from 20 million to 28 million. The cash jackpot has risen from 11.4 million to 16 million. Estimated sales will thus be around 14.5 million. This suggests that the probability of the lottery rolling over again will be 90%. The probability of a single winner will be around 9.5%, of two winners, 0.5% and of three winners 0.02%.Good luck.

Cash or annuity ?
Every persons situation is different. For a young couple it makes sense to have the that long term security and take the annuity. For a old dog like me, who won't be around twenty five or so years from now, the cash is the way to go.Chas

Man Dies In Crash Weeks After Winning Lottery
oh no. lottery winnings are inheritable. for example, if you take the annuity option, and die before you recieve all your payments, your estate gets the remaining payments. once you get the check, the money is yours, and yours to pass on to your family, should the unthinkable occur.

Connecticut House votes to give jackpot to winner who missed deadline
The prize should go back to the jackpot fund (although IMO Connecticut should join Hot Lotto .) The man won when CT Lotto was annuity-only.

Ohio considering Match 6 clone
before picking any numbers, the cash option was the first box I inked in on the stupid 6 bet slip... I used to consider the annuity on the big PB jackpots, but now I would rather have the lump sum... take the money and run (like that old Steve Miller song)

Ohio considering Match 6 clone
you gotta love how they used PA lottery tickets in the pictures. i hope they got copyright rights from the PA lottery, and that the PA lottery got some money out of it. i chose the second game though, the super 6 clone, simply because you could choose between annuity or cash.
