Tennessee's biggest Powerball winner keeps low profile
Hum, TheGameGrl, I don't understand your last two paragraphs, as they weren't comparing apples to apples, but rather an apple to an orange. The woman who is still working had to. How could one retire when: 1. You only win $1,000,000 gross; 2. The win is reduced to $650, 000 net after the fed taxes were taken out within the following 12 months (good thing since she bought and lives in Tennessee which I think still didn't tax lottery earnings the year she won, as they don't currently!); 3. $312 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot raised again
$12 million would be just as life changing as $312 million to me, in that I could retire, travel, have nice things and do what I want with both. But if I have to choose, I guess I'll take the $312 million.

$151 Million: Lottery riches up for grabs in Mega Millions game
Of course it would be nice to win the jackpot. Lately, ive been wanting to win the match 5+0 $1,000,000 megaplied/powerball powerplayed prize. I just want my mom to retire, and buy a nice single family house with a garage. She's 51 and works two jobs cleaning houses and working at a supermarket.

Small Jackpots vs Big Jackpots
I like to play all the jackpots that I have money to play for. So it does not matter to me the size but I only play Powerball and mega millions now. I want to be able to let my mother retire and help my sister and brother-in-law. Good luck to me tonight.-weshar75

Small Jackpots vs Big Jackpots
The bigger the better which is why I picked over $200 million. I generally only play PB/MM and I play to retire! Winning a few hundred thousand or even a million just isn't sexy enough for me.

Lottery winner flees Spain penniless as bank seizes villa and bar
This guy had some bad things happen in his life which some could probably been avoided if he'd claimed it quietly without going public. But I don't really buy into Lottery Curses and ascribe every BAD event in someone's life to winning a jackpot. It seems some sound financial advice should be sought by these people....Maybe I don't know much about how much things cost in Europe but seems trying to retire and buy a villa in Spain was a little much with a jackpot of ($8million). Perhaps he overest

Missouri man wins $2M lottery jackpot - 3 months after winning $1M
It would be enough for me. I would think winning 1 million would be enough to retire on, as long as you are relatively debt free.

Poll: Best place for a lottery player to live
What? Do mean Panama doesn't have a lottery? If so, then that is a big dissapointment because Panama is right at the top of my list of places to retire to.
