Instant ticket grand-prize lottery game still under wraps
All TN lottery players take note: The rules adopted by the lottery board yesterday say in part: The CEO shall determine any prizes to be awarded and the method of payment that shall be stated in the draw procedures. (emphasis added)So....if TN doesn't give players the choice as to whether they want their jackpot prizes in a lump sum or as an annuity or allows the choice, but only at purchase and not at claiming, we all know who to blame....

$4 million winner lays low after jackpot
Bunny:The point is, the winner DID NOT have a choice-Mass. continues to require almost all big winners to receive annuity payments. (Mega Millions' cash option IS available in Mass., however.)

$4 million winner lays low after jackpot
Todd:Of course I am. You know how I feel about games that don't allow the winner to take the cash in lieu of the annuity.

Lottery nixes man's bid to buy 7 million tickets

High Court OKs Lottery Worker's Prosecution
jacaesar:AFAIC the biggest form of lottery corruption is forcing big winners to receive X years of annuity payments, without the winner being allowed to take the cash value in lump sum.

High Court OKs Lottery Worker's Prosecution
Maybe some of the Lottery Officials and other officials in New Jersey should be investigated and prosecuted surrounding the June 9, 2000 winning ticket which seems obvious that they participated in a cover-up to help, Al Oliver, aka Melvin Milligan, claim my ticket by hiding the winner as if it were a Pick-6 ticket, indicateing that it was a annuity ticket, when it was a cash ticket which is chosen when purchased, and indicating that the ticket was paid May 21, 2001, when news coverage indicated

Bloomington couple claims Powerball jackpot
Perhaps a winner under 30 having to choose between 10m annuity and 5.2m cash could be swayed into the annual payments-except PB is 30 checks (tied for most of any US lottery game) if you don't choose lump sum.
