I met someone years ago who had a business that bought the annuities of lottery winners. Apparently after x amount of years the average winner is close to bankruptcy and willing to sell the annuity to obtain the cash at a loss on the dollar. I think this person did quite well with it.

the cash value is actually all they have on them, the annuity value is a projected value of 20 or 30 years worth of investments based on the interest rate.that's not a fee, that's just creative advertising on the part of the lottery.Uncle Sam currently whacks you for 35% for anything over $300,000... the percentage goes down from there depending on personal financial situation...only amounts under $600 escape the tax man (at least here in Pennsylvania)

Both...plus, like Bug, I play the MD lotto. I also the PA Super Six. The PA 6/69 is now $54,900,000 annuity or $32,300,000 cash. I am going to play till someone hits it, then I think I will focus on PA Cash 5 instead.

Thanks for the offer Annuity,Those numbers matched 4 for $150 a year ago on 09/20/02 and I never play numbers that have done that well in the past. Tuesday's numbers had matched 3 the tuesday before, so I could be wrong but that the way it goes when you gamble. Good luck to you.RJOh
