Ohio649P.....09/13/03 up to $18M
I don't want annuity advice either, for that matter. Let me take my lump sum, and then I'll decide how I'll invest MY winnings.

Annuity,I'm a lottery player, not a mind reader. If there is somthing you don't know, then ask a question and maybe some one will answer. One thing you should know is that I don't come to lottery post to get advice about annunities.RJOh

Mega Million Drawing for Tuesday, 9/16/03
Kristen and Rjoh, maybe you two are overanalyzing. rather than looking at previous results or studying patterns, why don't you just pick 6 numbers that first come to your head. Much much easier. But remember to choose annuity to both of you.

Mega Millions Considers Multiplier
MM is not organized , like MUSL. Example: NY players of MM must choose cash or annuity when they PLAY, whereas AFAIK the nine other states allow the choice to be made after winning.

Super 6
rollover of $1 Mil for the Annuity/$500K for the Cash.I don't get it. Hopefully once no one wins this game in over a year, PA will get rid of it. That wouldn't be until November though.

Winning a US Lottery in the UK
Yes, you have to pay taxes on US lottery wins. Another caution-if you want a lump sum, make sure you don't get stuck with annuity payments.

3d jackpot option?
Apparently Missouri Lotto (6/44) winners have a third choice: taking half of their prize in cash, with the other half going directly into an annuity.I don't see a problem with it, because it gives winners an additional choice, while preserving the true cash option. However, I'd still like to see MO replace its 6/44 with Hot Lotto , with HL allowing the additional payment option.

Dropping cash values?
Look at Colorado Lotto; AFAIK their cash value has ALWAYS been 40% of the annuity. If there's one game where cash option winners are cheated, it's the Colorado 6/44 game.CO would do well to replace its 6/44 with Hot Lotto , since CO is a MUSL member.

Will Mass. finally do the right thing?
Mega Millions winners in Massachusetts, as well as in the other nine (current) states, are allowed to collect their jackpot prize in lump sum. However, winners of their 6/42, 6/49, and many of their scratch games still are required to receive annuity payments.Maybe Mass. lottery players finally will have the same rights as those who buy other states' tickets.

Powerball jackpot grows faster
Also, a prime reason for why PB grows faster is that while MM has a membership of primarily larger states, there are more PB states and their combined populations currently outstrip MM's populations (not counting our new brother TX). Plus, a 30 year annuity doesn't hurt either (the power of compound interest...gotta love it).
