Texas Lottery says NJ group tried to buy another Lotto Texas jackpot
A limit on the number of tickets per machine is a reasonable fix to block an all-combo buyout, if the limit is chosen correctly. Did the same group use their profits from the last all-combo buyout jackpot to max out as many machines possible on this latest courier ticket win after the group had probed and found out the limit per machine in December?

MegaMillions ticket reprint fraud by a store associate?
Hi all lottery gurus, We ran into a weird situation yesterday and I'd love to get your take on it, please. We run an office pool when jackpot hits 1BN, and this drawing is one of those we normally play. Our pool reaches $700-800 most of the time and we usually buy ~$100-150 in tickets at multiple stores. Yesterday, my friend came to one of the stores and first went to a self-service machine. She bought $100 worth of tickets - twenty $3 entries and twenty $2 entries. They got printed out

Frustrating lottery vending machine error helps Illinois man win $9.2 million jackpot
Like I mentioned years ago a well heeled lady playing scratch tickets and using ATM right next to lotto machine to get more money. She tossed tickets. Scanned them and one was a $200 winner. Took it from Pilot to another station and liar comes to me and says that's his ticket. At that other store found a $50 winner in the trash can. Dumpster diving pays off once in a while. Yes, this was meant to happen to him and very happy lady luck was waiting!

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
I think what winoneday meant was that it was bad luck for the house. In the long run, the average jackpot won will equal the expected value. In a game like this, a drawing every few days with odds of 1 in 300 million, the long run could be many years. In a short period of time, the players can be lucky which means the house (MUSL) is unlucky. Unlike other games like pick 3 or any table game or slot machine in a casino, where more jackpots are good for business because the long run for th

Pennsylvania Lottery releases its own Cash Pop draw game
I had another interaction with Cash Pop in Pennsylvania yesterday. I played a mix of Match6, Powerball, P3 and P4 on a vending machine. I fed my slips in and while it was cranking my tickets out, the screen pops up and says my free ticket had been generated. I didn't know I had a free ticket coming. When I sorted through the tickets after I got home, there was a Cash Pop ticket among them. I had played $4 in P3 and apparently playing a P3 generates a chance you'll get a free Cash Pop QP. Wha

MegaMillions ticket reprint fraud by a store associate?
maybe you'll get lucky in win a double prize That depends ( apart from a lot of luck for this to happen, of course ) on how the lottery system handles these reprints - given that the reprinted ticket has all the different LK/RK values on it, I bet the system works in a way that if a reprint is requested, the failed ticket ID / barcode is invalidated in the backend (as it is assumed that it was stuck in a printer or something similar), so we technically don't have double tickets. It

Minnesota Lottery adds age verification to vending machines
Government-issued ID required for all self-service machine purchases By Kate Northrop Minnesota Lottery players are now required to scan government-issued ID at all self-service vending machines when making a purchase. In an effort to curb underage gambling, the Minnesota Lottery added age verification at all ticket vending machines. Under Minnesota state law, players must be 18 years of age to purchase lottery tickets or redeem prizes at retailers. To further enforce the rule in

MUSL to launch "X's and O's," a new multi-state Powerball NFL game
The Powerball Group underwent a massive, nationwide research study in preparation for X's and O's, which revealed that adults aged 18-34 would be more interested in playing Powerball if the brand aligned with the NFL, according to Finks For $12 I'm not interested and I am not into sports or the NFL personally. Why do they need an app, just check numbers? I was hoping ALL state lotteries in America would allow ticket buying through an app or online as they do in the UK, Australia, Europe, an

I'm done playing the lottery
I don't see how a vending machine problem is the retailers responsibility. A vending machine is a way for a store o sell tickets and collect the commission without paying an employee. Why shouldn't equipment the store uses to take your money be the store's responsibility? Lottery retailer responsibilities. This is per Fla, I would assume other states have more or less the same rules and regs. https://www.law.cornell.edu/regulations/florida/Fla-Admin-Code-Ann-R-53ER24-36#:~:text
