Pa. couple claims $128 million Powerball jackpot
This is not factual. The annuity is funded when you win, so regardless of how bad Obummer drives up the deficit and Congress can't pass a balanced budget, any lottery winner receiving annuity payments will still get paid. The question though if the US goes broke is will those annuitants really want to continue to live in the US? I know I wouldn't.
Now if Obummer sought to have government take over the actual funds of lotteries like the government controls Social Security, then this point wou

Britain's record lottery winners go public
Well done Todd. However, I suggest the constitution was drafted by all conservatives. Perhaps thats why slavery was allowed. There is a fundamental flaw with your opinion. As with the Bible or Koran or Laws, the constitution can and has always been interpreted with a self serving purpose.
I think their are vital issues for Federal Government to be involved in. Simply saying less government is better is misleading. Remember, we are the most powerful nation in the world and responsiblities

The Great Lottery Revolt
No. Players know the odds when they buy tickets, provided there's no corruption, misrepresentation, fraud, flawed RNGs [allowing them to sell tickets for numbers that have zero chance of winning] or otherwise questionable practices on the part of the lottery operations.
But the premise that lotteries are public institutions is valid. Lotteries should maintain public access to all records concerning their draw results, where the money went, how much was paid out and any other information inten

California Hot Spot
Ah scanners, you're lucky. Our lottery director won't allow them in Tennessee.
She says it makes her feel like we don't trust her and would be checking up on her to make sure she's being honest. She said she's not going to put up with that kind of disrespect from anybody and if we don't like it we can go play in Kentucky with the morons.
She said she's tired of this crap with everybody complaining about corruption all the time. She said she did a thorough investigation of herself and didn'

Praying?
RL,
I realize your post is just a thought, but it smacks of guilt-trip works based theology.
It's not joker17's fault or anyone else's that even when people try to do good the corruption of foreign leaders intercepts the foodstuffs, medical supplies and other things intnded for the needy.
During the Viet Nam conflict tons of such things that were sent south went directly to the VC and NVA. That's just one minor example.
I know a stock answer to such things is God provided the reource

Complaints prompt review of Arkansas Lottery's personnel policies, salaries
Favoritism and corruption in high places? This is absolutely shocking news!
Ms. Middleton if she's smart will hire Hillary as her legal counsel and turn all related paperwork over to her so she can put it in the black hole with all the Whitewater documents from the law firm she worked for that she misplaced .
Hopefully, there's nobody who knows too much like Vince Foster.
And naturally, the anonymous complainers will have to be rooted out and dealt with in the most harsh and severe term

Other people involved in lottery winner's slaying, attorney says
A lot of those people who did the lynchings were found not guilty by juries too.
So you condemn and then support the same corruption of the legal process.
You can't have it both ways.
The outrage here though is that you would applaud a murderer getting away with the slaughter of two innocent people. Two families utterly devastated by having their loved ones butchered alive and you consider it a good thing.
That kind of thinking comes from a sick, twisted mind.

If you won the lottery, would you pull a "Tiger Woods?"
You make a very good point here. If you have nothing then you're no target for such corruption and likely not to encounter the opposite sex in multitudes as stars do. Hey, it's tough out there and everyone cannot withstand the same amount of temptation. RJOH, if you won the Mega or Powerball, you can bet your life on it that you'd have more come on's from the opposite sex than you know what to do with.
True, it's all up to you how well you deal with it or ward it off if you have a wife or gir

N.Y. couple wins $162M lottery jackpot - but owes $1M
I wish I could live in that world you envision, but alas...
There are plenty of politicians in jail or being prosecuted for corruption, and they got there without my getting an aneurism over it. You implied that she was pocketing that money. It's going to her state, and that kind of wheeling and dealing is how the real world works. You can get worked up about it all you want, but eventually you'll be pushing daisies and they'll still be doing their thing. If the guy from TN didn't get anythin
