Probability of a rollover in PB and MM
It is probably premature to post this, but the overall probability of the lottery growing past the $162 million jackpot we enjoyed at the end of the year, assuming the jackpots increase at the same rate they did then, seems to be in the neighborhood of 40%.This would involve three more rollovers.

MM sets a new record

Kentucky Lottery has record sales over six months
Tennessee start-up clouds forecast for full fiscal yearTwo large Powerball jackpots and some high-priced scratch-off games helped the Kentucky Lottery post record sales for the first half of the fiscal year. But a possible dip in sales because of a new lottery in Tennessee makes a full fiscal-year forecast difficult, lottery officials said.Through Dec. 31, the lottery board paid the state about $90.million in dividends, compared with about $85.million for the first six months of fiscal 2002-03.Th

Probability of a rollover in PB and MM
Quote: Originally posted by 6of6 on February 02, 2004 Thanks for the stats prob, never looked at the odds for the jackpot before, very interesting, But I had my tickets when mm got to that 350 mil mark, that was when it was split 3 or 4 ways , the only thing I remember about that jackpot was ( besides that I didn't win of course) was that one winner was a 18 or 19 year old girl who bought like 5 quick pics at a gas station, never played before and won. Well, as I see it, there are circumstances

lottery tickets
I try to play mm,pb, fl.......currently I have all three but, I live in Alabama so Florida Tickets are about 1hr 20min round trip and pb tickets are about 4hr round trip, I only get mm when I go out of town to work, but I advance play the tickets to the max in whatever state I'm in. Played online a few times with a little trepidation, when the jackpots get really big I like to have the ticket in my hand, not relying on somebody I don't know.

Powerball $85 Million
Their jackpots may be the same but the cash value of PowerBall is $46M and MegaMillions is $49.8M, so if both roll over again, I would expect that MegaMillions might have a bigger jackpot next time also.RJOh

Probability of a rollover in PB and MM
i still think mega wont break 200 and certainly not 300. it was the big game not megamillions that holds the record jackpot. since then several states have been added and the rules changed. the big game could generate large pots because of the few number of players. now the game has spread out more and the jackpots for megamillions have been low. maybe with fewer rollovers a larger pot is possible but not over 300 and 400 million is less likely than winning the game itself.

Help with system - DLM
No offense intended, but IMHO what lottery players are looking for in lottery software is to1: Open the program2: Enter the last draw3: Click on Predict or Forecast4: Perhaps enter a requested quanity of numbers for wheeling5: print or port the numbers to wheeling/filtering to select a wheel for that many numbers or build one from scratch6: Take the lines to the 7/11 and play7: Collect on winning tickets, repeat. Now I'm not saying a whole lot of charts and graphs aren't interesting, but they sho

Probability of a rollover in PB and MM
well its also based on how many roll overs take place but on large 200 mil jackpots i think the odds of 2 or more winners is actually pretty high - i'd say like 40-60% on a 240 mil jackpot.i personally don't think megamillions will break 200 and can't explain fully why one game (powerball) can repeatedly break 200 mil while mega with worse odds can't even break 180
