NY Lotto: 25 years of ripping off winners
Johnph77:You can't go by the annuity value. It is based on fluctuating rates, and has no bearing on the percentage of sales that go to jackpots.

Pennsylvania Lottery Announces Retirement of Super 6 Lotto
Pennsylvania Lottery officials today announced the last Super 6 Lotto drawing will take place on Tuesday, January 27, 2004. Super 6 has been a great game for the Pennsylvania Lottery, generating more than one billion dollars in sales over the past five years, said Lottery Executive Director Ed Mahlman. Recently, however, interest in Super 6 has decreased, as Powerball has established itself as Pennsylvania's premier jackpot game. Mahlman said the Lottery plans to distribute of the remaining Su

Reducing Lottery Rewards
i never understood this nonsense of making smaller jackpots. every player already knows they only get like 25 - 30% of the jackpot anyway (cash after tax). power ball has a stupid cap although they have never reached it. no one plays for second place. not in sports. not in politics and not in the lottery. you only play for the jackpot.

International Lottery Game Collapses
One could add a few more states to the MM and economies of scale (and a matrix change) would lead to higher jackpots...remember, the Governator is looking for revenue sources and CA isn't part of either PB or MM....

Powerball-Mega Million Merger?
If they did merge I would foresee a hike in the odds and the ticket prices to generate larger jackpots. At least a two dollar minimum per play on game slip and another dollar for the multiplier per play. It would be a killing for them at least. But that is a big IF !

International Lottery Game Collapses
This is kind of sad I would have liked to have seen these large jackpots and a chance to play. They came a long way and almost had the deal done only to stop the process and call it off. I think they should rethink the deal and push forward with it. A lot of people could benefit from it, the revenue alone could help some countries deal with their financial problems. Not to include make many players very wealthy.
