PA Super-6...when will it end?
The PA Lottery is the only one in the US that made use of pick-7 jackpot games for so long (Super-7: 7/11/80, later 7/10/74; then Keystone Jackpot, 6/33 + 1/33.) Both S-7 and KJ were always annuity-only.

Powerball's Cash Option
Anyone notice that Powerball's initial Cash Option has decreased for this next drawing to $5.5 Million? Previous starting jackpots have been at $6 Million ever since they switched to the 30 year annuity. Since interest rates haven't changed, I wonder why the decrease?

TOPIC: If you ever won the Powerball....
that's a cool idea, best of both worlds...then YOU can pick the terms of the annuity, live LARGE and still have the safety net afforded by a guaranteed income... I like it!

TOPIC: If you ever won the Powerball....
Hyper:I'd switch to CASH _immediately_ for any potential jackpot win. Among other things, if you were to receive annuity payments, there are potential estate tax problems. You don't know what the tax laws will be 5 or 25 years down the road.

Cash vs. annuity: Give it a break
Cash, I actually think you've provided a ton of interesting and useful information. What I'm referring to is the back forth bickering that has killed off a number of interesting topics. A quick scan of any of a variety of posts would indicate that you prefer cash option, and he prefers annuity. No need to debate that any further!

OHIO Lotto $36 million Sat 5/3
Seems like a heck load of money for a 6/49 game. You gotta play it. Ohio - Choose Annuity!

NJ Lotto Pick 6
Jeeves:New Jersey Pick-6 Lotto is UNDERRATED compared to NY Lotto 59 (with its 40% prize pool) and PA Super-6 (automatic quick-picks, etc.)Another advantage to NJ Pick-6 Lotto is that you are no longer pressured to make the cash/annuity choice when you play (which NY Lotto and PA Super-6 still do.)If only I lived on the west side of the Hudson, although I live a reasonable drive from Connecticut.
