We used to do lottery pools at work on rhe large jackpots. Didn't win alot. Used quick-picks. I appreciated that the person in charge took the time to make copies of the tickets and distributed them to all who particapated. We had around twenty people. Best of luck.

I agree with Todd , I think the Jackpots may not exceed the expectations of $400 million but, I believe that Mega will reach and break $100 a lot faster than it has been...besides I can't see where the megaball people havent done a study on this yet. I Bet that right now lottery sales done come close to covering 30% of the numbers possible.

dvdiva,Again, I respectfully disagree. Only time will tell what happens after Texas joins, but my opinion is the jackpots will grow quicker and larger. We should definitely revisit this topic 6 months from now.

Hey, players just hit Powerball when it was $10 million and $12 million. People hit 3 out of 4 drawings. The concept of hitting low jackpots is not unique to MM, although I don't consider $70 million to be low. A lot of people start playing at a lot lower level than that.

its growth depends on how many people bought tickets for the drawing (sales) not the number of states- the big game (the game before the lame megamillions) went up to 360 million - the biggest prize in any lottery with only 7 states and when they changed the rules so the odds were worse and 3 (soon 4) more states joined the prizes collapsed to where the biggest prize is only half that of the big game.the jackpot only grows if no one wins but people still buy tickets. if you look at lottery sales
