Pep$i billion-dollar game
secret:Buffett owns about 8% of Cola-Cola.Perhaps if someone wins the $250 million cash (why on earth would ANYONE want the 40-payment balloon annuity?), Buffett would need to sell Coke shares to pay off the Pepsi winner.

Powerball....04/26/03
No Cash. Not joking. Again, you didn't answer my question. If your religion forbids you to choose Annuity, does your religion forbid you to marry as well. Just curious since after all, you're 40 w/ no kids and single.

Pep$i billion-dollar game
Todd, I know this is not a lottery , but...FYI, the $1 billion annuity is paid as:$5 million payment in years 1-20;$10 million payment in years 21-39; $710 million in year 40 (AD 2042?)Yes, there WILL be a cash option of $250 million (Mr Whitaker's was about $170m)

Why do you play the lottery games?
Your entitled too your opinion Annuity because I use too believe that myself but not anymore.Luck has a lot too do with it when you buy quick-picks or select your numbers out of a Hat.But when you use skill and logicLuck doesn't apply,I personally don't believe in Luck so it doesn't apply too me.

OHIO Lotto 6/49 Wed 4/23 $29m
Before you can choose cash or annuity, you have to win a jackpot, so neither opinion is worth a bucket of slop to the aveage lottery player or even a hog farmer. Those same opinions are posted ten to twenty times everyday. Do either of you people think anyone care that much about your one opinion? Can't either of you come up with some other useful information?RJOh

MegaMillions picks for 04/22/03
AIG:If you're trying to convince posters to choose annuity instead of lump sum, you're not doing a good job at it. You'll NEVER convince me!

Another CASH vs ANNUITY poll
AT least use the first annuity payment you receive to get your head examined. That way, we could find the root cause of your insanity. Then, go cross the street.

Texas Lottery
yep, I just checked a ticket it says your jackpot choice is binding. Not chosing gives you the annuity. I always choose CVO anyway.

Texas Lottery
The most interesting thing about the new version of LOTTO TEXAS is that while it will be played like Powerball/Mega Millions/California SuperLotto Plus, you will LOSE by matching _only_ the mega number or whatever term the TX Lottery will use. Yet, PB and the CA game, each with fewer numbers in the lower field, let you win with ONLY that number.TX also needs to adopt the 60-day rule-you'll still have to make the cash/annuity choice WHEN you play, instead of after you win.

Mega Millions getting boring
I think you CAN make the Mega Millions even harder to win AND make it a more interesting game:add three balls on the top (5/55) but remove three numbers from the bottom (1/49)...longer jackpot odds but ALSO better overall oddskeep lower tier prizes as is (perhaps increase second prize to $200,000)lengthen the annuity to 30 payments (almost everyone takes the cash anyway)
