Mega Millions - 02/04/2003
RJ: I live in northern Westchester. The two $175,000 winners were in the southern part of the county. I'll listen to anybody except those hawking annuity ;)

therock has come back to lotterypost!
BramaBull ;) where did you live before? I seem to remember it was PA. Yes, NY requires you to choose WHEN you play instead of after you win. Do you go to Canada? (no withholdings, no annuity payments) You better tell this AnnuityIsGreat jerk how ridiculous he is.

PA-thetic Super 6
smd: I've been e-mailing PA periodically since June, if not farther back, about replacing Super-6. Maybe you/we should e-mail Gov Rendell. At least he is pro-lottery. A new game SHOULD allow players to choose all their numbers, and have a cash value of more than 50% of the jackpot if the annuity is no more than 26 payments.

MegaMillions
It's about time someone wins MM. Let's go out there and play. Remember, to choose Annuity.... It just makes so much sense! How many are you playing? I'm playing 152 QPs.

Anybody in California?
Did the $85 million ticket holder come forward? For some reason CA still requires players to make the cash/annuity choice WHEN they play instead of after they win.

Megamillions picks...01/28/03
Andy: You didn't read me. I will NEVER buy a ticket for a game where the top prize(s) are NOT paid in lump sum. Annuity-only prizes still happen because of LOTTERY CORRUPTION.

Cash,so you'd take $175K over $10M. Hmmmm, are you okay? Also, what if there's a game (hypothetically) where you have to pick one # out of 2 #s (chances of winning is 50%). the price to play is a buck but if you match the one #, the payout is $1M annuity (over 26 years)Do you play?

How do you lose by Winning big?
AFAIK you have only 6 months to claim a Hoosier Lottery ticket. BTW, he/she/they would also lose big if they _did_ come forward, but choose ANNUITY.

Just trying to improve the odds - as to having too much time on my hands that is a matter of opinion - dont you think so - since it took me about 5 mintues to come up with the stats. As to the annuity or cash - who cares - I would like to see some cash either way. Thanks Buckeye
