$800 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot approaches billion-dollar range
There's obviously a better chance than ever before, but I'll still be surprised if it gets there without a roll.
MUSL obviously couldn't be sure ahead of time how big sales would be, because we're in unknown territory and because the hysteria that drives huge sales has diminished over the last few years. Neither of those invalidates all of the other data they have for making their estimates. I don't know how the pattern of sales varies from one drawing to the next, but MUSL knows. They know t

N.C. legislators look to expand lottery
Lawmakers in Raleigh are looking to place bets on the state lottery once again as a source of more money for education programs across North Carolina.
House and Senate budget negotiators are working on a plan, already adopted by the state Senate, that would significantly increase advertising of the lottery's scratch-off and other offerings, including the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpot games. Another part of the plan, also backed by the Senate: Making a version of instant tickets availabl

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
Due to formatting issues, I cannot post a direct side by side comparison of the odds on the old L4L games compared to the new ones being released. But here are the highlights:
The odds on the non-top prize levels have not changed in any meaningful way. This means that your odds of winning $1,000, $500, $10, etc are about the same with the new L4L games as the old ones of the same dollar domination. The real change is in the top prize odds. For the $5,000 a week for life: The old odds for the

Monopoly Millionaires game
GiveFive and Growler:
Yes, there is a clear distinction here. The odds after buying a ticket but before the drawing were 1 in 5.2 million (before buying a ticket the odds were null). The odds after the jackpot was hit was the 1 in 59,000 number I provided. FTR the odds were 1 in 59,195. Turns out my original guesstimate on sales was very close (apparently only 402 tickets difference between this draw and last). Now, those sound like great odds compared to other games. I think most agree that'

Do you feel like you even have a chance anymore?
This question is specifically for those who always work the numbers to help increase their chance of picking what they believe to be the most probable numbers. If you feel it is not impossible to increase your chances of winning the jackpot, please disregard.
Mega Millions' new matrix of 1-75 is so large it has resulted in me feeling like its practically impossible and overwhelming to try to eliminate numbers I do not think will be drawn next. Since the change has been made, there's been

649 formula
Errata.... I wrote: ``Empirically, among the past 827 drawings, there have been 4095 unique quads and 20 quads that appeared twice -- 4135 in all (= 827*5). So the current probability of a duplicate quad is 20-in-4135 (0.48%).``
That conclusion is not right. And I see I failed to correct a typo in one place. There's an excuse for that .
First, C(56,4) is 367,290. Second, in the first 827 drawings, there are no drawings with more than 1 duplicate quad -- that is, a 4-tuple that appears in

Pari-Mutuel Powerball
But the lottery has a budget, and somewhere down the line, they may have to trim some of the prize percentage from another game to cover the losses from a high payout P3 or other overpaid game. That's the reality.
California has almost six times more potential lottery players than the state of Massachusetts, but the annual ticket sales are about $400 million more in MA. The net profit to ticket sales in Cali is 30.2% compared to 17.6% in MA so it's obvious MA has a much higher prize ratio.

Creative Marketing Techniques to Increase LP Memberhip
LP is already the world's largest lottery forum, but are there other ways to further increase membership?
One idea that comes to mind is a web based advertising venue, that kicks in whenever key search words are used by any web surfer.
Promotions to draw added members might include giving every 1000th paid member, a free Platinum membership, and/or a $500 cash bonus.
Other ideas could include more encouraged word of mouth, among existing LP members to friends, family, work associat

Saving Lottery Lines To Increase Your Chances Of Winning A Jackpot Without Spending More Money.
You do not understand the main point of my system PLAYING THE LOTTERY LESS OFTEN FOR MORE LINES.
Let me explain it in details one more time.Lets say that you spend $5 every week playing the lottery, and you want to increase your chances of winning in a single drawing without spending extra money.
You can actually spend $20 monthly in a single lottery drawing to have more chances of winning. You save the $20 by not playing the lottery for 4 weeks ( $5 * 4 WEEKS ).
