smd: Automatic quick-picks don't bother me compared to annuity-only games. People who like to wheel numbers (too expensive for me) can't do so with Super-6.

Can you imagine if BOTH get up to $200 Mil+ at the same time? The national media will have a horrible time trying to tell the two apart.

You didn't read what I said. If I win a big lottery prize, be it NY, Connecticut, etc, it's MY money, and I should NOT have to take annuity even if the rules don't allow it. That's why I buy most of my tickets in Connecticut instead of NY; the folks who run the Connecticut Lottery are much more respectful of their customers (lottery players).

Annuity,I agree that you guys BOTH went over the line with the insults, which is why I directed my comments at everyone who participates in the discussion. I'm definitely not trying to stop the discussion; on the contrary I'm enjoying most of it. It's good to hear both sides. And you're right about Mega Millions -- it's $50M and people should get in it! SMD,In this rare case, since he's already a millionaire (less than 1.0% of the people in this country has income > $1M) and he's close to a retirement (he's pretty oldie), in this RARE case, lumpsum makes sense. The sensible thing he should have done is two things:a) have his daughter claim the prize winning with the annuity method.b) if he did have to claim it, he should have done it anonoymously. i heard he is family is having death threats cause of the lump sum method he chose. come on,

Cash Vs. Annuity
Thomas,I can't agree with you more except that it's really beyond a 10.5 percent return.. .In this day and economy, CHOOSING ANNUITY JUST MAKES TOTAL SENSE.

SMD,Give me a scenerio of the person you're talking about. Age? Income? Prize level and I will tell you why at most times that choosing annuity at this day and age just makes so much sense.
