Suggestion for NEW ENGLAND
I agree with you CASH. But the problem with 6/49 is there are so many few winners in a year. In a year only 2 to 3 jackpots are won. The sales are low for MASS 6/42 and 6/49. If they give CASH OPTION, the jackpot size will be much less huritng the sales pitch more. I usually don't play either of them for ANNUITY reasons.

win Win WIN The Powerball Jackpot Now!!
Mr. Whittaker has stated that he was only interested in the lotteries when the jackpots reached $100M or more and he bought a $100 worth of QP tickets. That seems pretty simple to me, hardly worth putting in a book. By the way I bought $42 worth of tickets so I missed buying a jackpot ticket by $58, next time I will know better.RJOh

Would you have liked to have hit for $100K, like you did, or for possibly $1.1 Million?I don't think the Match 5 bonus is a bad idea, but they should make the cap $50 Mil and not $25 Mil.

Annuity Option a waste?
All the lotteries use annuities to show how big their jackpots are but why? Very few people ever take the annuity anymore. Do you think the lotteries will ever get rid of the annuity option. Doubt it but what do you think?

PowerBall observations
Since I believe if you have a budget of only a few dollars a week for entertainment and you chose to entertain yourself playing the lottery, then it's better to play just one. I didn't play the Megamillion last night and if I don't head over to Indiana before 5 o'clock I won't be playing the Powerball either. With two large lottery jackpots availalble, it is not a clear choice which one to play even though the Powerball has the best odds of getting something back. Good luck to anyone that d

Michigans New Game, Winfall?
I just received an e-mail from MI. They said that WINFALL will be a 6/49 game. Jackpots will start at $2 million, but will be capped at $5 million; prize money will be added to ALL lower tiers when the cap is exceeded. (No info on how many prize levels, or whether an unwon $5 million jackpot would stay at $5 million.)

Powerball winner from Indiana for 9/14
Todd: I hate to correct you, but, AFAIK the rule for unclaimed Powerball jackpots was changed effective with the current vesion of PB (also incluses second prize money in excess of $100k or its multiple if PowerPlay was chosen) so that the jackpot money is given back to all the MUSL members, with each member receiving approximately what they contributed to the jackpot pool through sales. The paragraph _preceding_ the one you went to is obviously outdated; it mentions $1 prizes (the smallest PB

It going to be a while before there are any indications either way because the odds of a free tickets is not as good as a $2 win with Megamillions. Probably a $10M+ jackpot attracts more players, because there are not many jackpots that size with odds under 1:15m.RJOh

Ohio SuperLotto...10/05/2002
How much have the jackpots been growing(in annuity) each drawing for this game since MM came on the scene back in May? The Super 6 in PA has only been growing by a half mil each drawing since PB started in late June. Also, how does the BONUS ball thing work? I read on the OH website that you don't pick it and it doesn't show up on your ticket(so how does it get there?).
