Mega Millions vs Ohio 6/49
I don't know why this hadn't occured to me sooner, but when PB goes to the 30 year Annuity, they most likely will have a larger annuity value for less cash. This could be a good thing, since the Jackpots are mostly advertised based on their Annuity value. And the higher the jackpot the more casual players they will draw.

Mega Millions vs Ohio 6/49
RJOh: The 5,952,380 or so amount for Mega Millions was for the starting $10 million jackpot LAST Tuesday (9/10). The cash value percentage of the Mega Millions annuity is virtually the same as Powerball's. (Never mind PB soon will go to 30 annual payments.) The Ohio Lottery needs to be much more reasonable about the cash value percentage of the Ohio 6/49 annuity; otherwise, the right thing to do would be to make Ohio Lotto an ALL-CASH game (since Ohio itself cannot produce mega-jackpots).

9/11 & Powerball
EZMoney: I think MUSL has a huge war chest, er, reserve fund for paying lower tier prizes. AFAIK, Powerball jackpots are based ENTIRELY on sales.

OhioSuperLotoPlus picks for 08/31/02
RJOh: I was hoping you'd be spending less money on the Ohio 6/49 by now. Hopefully MM jackpots will increase even faster starting Wednesday since Washington state begins selling MM tickets then!

How much money is enough!?
I think what you are seeing with the big jackpots make big linups thing is the psychology of a chance at that big $$ jackpot, slim as it may be, overpowering the realism that you're [probably/usually/always] just throwing your money away. Most of the people in those linups normally don't buy tickets until the WTF mindset kicks in [Oh WTF, it's just a buck!].Jackpot Winning Lottery Software

Rich for Life
My .02 worthFrom lottoways out of Illinois.I play the scratch offs but not as much as I use to.Reason being is one day I started reading all the odds of winning on the back of the tickets. It was amazing .On some of the $ 500.00 $1,000 winning odds,it was better to play the pick three (1000 to 1) or even the pk4 at 10,000 to 1.I could see the odds being high on the larger jackpots, but even to win a smaller pot was just about imposible. So, I now play the pk3 more and scartch offs less.Check ou

quick pick vs selected numbers
I was wondering what the percentages of winners were who won the big jackpots with quick picks vs those who selected their own numbers. Does anyone happen to know this? Just curious.....thanks.

When do you get the money?
With Jackpots it usually will take around 4 weeks. That is what i heard anyway. I don't know if there is any merit to that but it makes sense.
