computers record the combinations played
Quote: Originally posted by Maverick on December 24, 2004Hmm, validate meaning to know whose ticket won? If yes, are there other ways for them to know if a ticket won? Like serial numbers on the ticket is one way I think. The serial numbers are checked in a raffle because that's what you buy when you buy a raffle ticket. In a lottery, the serial number is associated with numbers on the ticket, if you don't know what should be on the ticket, the serial number has no value. That is the differen

PB Drawing for Saturday 12-18-04
Sounds reasonable. I think I understand. In the PB game with 42 bonus numbers there are 120,526,770 possible combinations with forty-two 5of5 combinations. Since one of them wins the jackpot there are 41 left that can win second prize, thus 120,526,770/41=2,939,677.31Without the bonus ball there are 2,869,685 possible combinations with only one 5of5 combination that can win. Using the rounded up numbers in the calculations resulted in 2,869,776 instead of 2,869,685 which is actually the possibl

For those who use draw history...

Has anybody looked at this idea and done a statistical analysis by computer simulation? I didn't do a computer simulation, but I looked at past drawings of several lotteries that I play including MM, PB, OH649 plus and Buckeye5 and fou

New York Lotto jackpot is $38M this week. A $38M jackpot is worth $38M in any state regardless of the state's percent of return to its players. I have yet to hear of a jackpot winner refusing that kind of money because the percent of return was too low. If you're not winning, the
