The Mega Millions jackpot increased by the minimum $10 million to $120 million. It is estimated the current jackpot is under funded from sales by about $8.3 million. In the previous Mega Millions run, the jackpot went from $110 million to $122 million. That is, it was fully funded and did not increase by the minimum. The Mega Millions jackpot is growing slower than last time because it is being over shadowed by the much larger Powerball jackpot. The Powerball jackpot is almost three times larger

Well I can only buy half as many cookies and no cupcakes now. I can also see why lottery sales could increase in a bad economy since more people become desperate for hope and a prayer, that cost more than twice as much now. But we're still at the beginning.

Go to USAMega.com and click on Past Results, then the drawing date for the winner breakdown. And go to the Florida Lottery website and do a little digging around and you'll find the official MM rules including the % of sales alotted for the jackpot...making it easy to figure out how many tickets were sold
