Ohio 6/49 Lotto increases by just 2 million (11m-13m)
Indeed. I do agree with that. A 6/48 game replacing the current Ohio 6/49 would be nice.. as well as a fix to NY's absurdly impossible to win + low payout 6/59 lotto. Sure, it's not as hard to win as Mega Millions, but the jackpots start insanely low for such odds and don't pay out nearly as much as they should.

Ohio 6/49 Lotto increases by just 2 million (11m-13m)
Jack Abe: I'm only trying to suggest that since Ohio 6/49 Lotto is no longer the top jackpot game in the Buckeye State (under normal conditions), the Ohio Lottery needs to seriously consider making changes to it. Those wanting to play for the biggest jackpots within Ohio will switch to Mega Millions. Therefore, the 6/49 game doesn't need to be as jackpot-driven (I suggest a 6/48 instead, for example.) The 6/59 Lotto here in New York will also suffer, as well as the Super-6 Lotto in Pennsylvani

Mega Millions is DEAD, long live the Big Game!
Those who dream of those so-called $500 million jackpots, are living in a true 'dream world'. Give us the original Big Game back, and any state that's against it, BOOT THEIR BUTTS from this multi-state lottery!, special emphasis on New York and Ohio, for it is my gut feeling that one or both of these states has played a major role in Mega-Flop.

Mega Millions is DEAD, long live the Big Game!
Don't be so quick to sign the death certificate for Mega Millions. I'll bet when they're signing yours MM will be alive and well and paying off big jackpots. I'm always amused by the nay sayers who like to see failures so they can say I told you so. Hang in there BC this is AD and Mega Millions only three drawings old will work.

TODD-Re: MEGA
The MagaMillion is 12M and the Ohio649Plus is 11M. Even is their jackpots were the same their cash values would be different because their annunities are different, one is over a 25yrs period and the other is over a 30yrs period. If the annunity was for 35yrs, the cash value would be even less.RJOh

12-10=2 MIL
OK, here's the deal. The jackpot begins at a minimum *gauranteed* $10million and increases at a minimum *gauranteed* $2million. That's also exactly how Powerball is at the moment. That's their current policy. I'm not sure where you can dig this up.. but that's what it is. If the sales are unable to meet it they have reserve funds (taken from previous jackpots - a small percentage is allocated for this) to compensate.

I'm Back!
Hello folks, i am back early from my business trip. I see there has been a lot of activity on these boards and I am finishing them up now. I bought a scratch off ticket in California and won $250 on a $1 ticket. Didn't play the jackpots there though. Joseph

Message to Ohio Lottery players
Now that Ohio sells a multi-state game, there's no need to keep Ohio Lotto as is. Take one ball out of the number field (48 instead of 49), eliminate the bonus ball (draw six numbers only), pay $3 for matching three numbers, make 4-of-6 and 5-of-6 numbers parimutuel (maybe averaging the same amounts as now), and, making the jackpot start at $1 million lump sum (to eliminate the low cash value of the annuity since there would be no more annuities.) Those wanting the biggest jackpots would still p

Mega Millions starting jackpot
30 million? I think it's better for the agents to have the first Mega Millions jackpot modest to give them time to adjust to the new game (especially in Ohio and New York). The 300+ million jackpots will come eventually.
