California Lottery fixes major problem with Derby game
Computerized lottery drawings the culprit in flawed results
Dave Andres, an insurance underwriter from Altadena, California, thought he alone was in the habit of scanning hundreds of winning numbers in the lottery's least-popular game, Daily Derby.
He assumed no one else noticed that for 100 days running this winter, none of the winning times in the horse race-themed game had numbers that were repeated.
He knew that players had to not only pick the right horses but also the last three d

Clearing Your Cache May Fix Page Problems
Clearing your cache to try and fix page errors
Every time you visit a Web page, your browser saves the contents of the page, as well as all the images and other files that are necessary to make it work. Then, when you re-visit the same page, it uses the saved files for that page, because it's quicker than having to download them again.
That's why the second time you visit a Web page is almost always quicker than the first time you visit it.

New Lottery Post System (You're Gonna Love It)
Thank tremendously, Todd! Terrific work! Very much appreciated!!Just wondering....is if there any chance that this one improvement could be made: automatically removing dupicates from the output, or at least having that option? If so, I guarantee that you will have at least one more Gold or Platinum member (me! lol), and probably dozens and dozens more. You can see here where I've had to manually remove duplicates from some Crunch1 results here: https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/101572.htm It

Understanding the Challenges of Filter Conflicts
In a lottery filter system, number repetition and delay groups (short, medium, and long) can cause conflicts. A number may be considered hot by one filter (repetitions) and cold by another (long delay), creating an inconsistency that can lead to an ineffective result. The goal is to create a set of rules that do not cancel each other out.
Application of the Pareto Chart
The Pareto Chart (also known as the 80/20 rule) is an excellent tool

pareto 80/20
Step 1: Use the Pareto Chart to Identify Priorities
Collect Data: Gather information about the problems you want to solve. For example, if you want to filter customer complaints, categorize them by type (late delivery, defective product, poor service, etc.) and count how many times each type occurred.
Create a Pareto Chart: Order the types of complaints from most to least frequent. Calculate the cumulative percentage and plot the data.
Identify Vital Causes: The cumulative line on you

$205K settlement reached, then rejected, in CT Lottery whistleblower case
Old disputes die hard at the Connecticut Lottery Corp. Here is the story of one of them.
A bitter legal dispute between the CLC and one of its former top officials was on the verge of being resolved 2 months ago. The opposing parties signed off March 10 on truce terms ranging from a $205,000 settlement price down to the exact wording of a script that would be read to any news reporter who asked about the case.
Signing a sheet of paper outlining the settlement terms were lottery CEO Greg Sm

Excel VBA code - My little contribution
I use this code to find the most frequently issued number from past combinations. Can be adapted to any lottery. I use it for Keno. This is my little contribution to this forum. Maybe someone already published it. If so, accept my apologies.

Oregon Lottery glitch in July made all Keno tickets losers
The Oregon Lottery has built up a $1.2 billion a year business trafficking in the eternal thrill of gambling. Just one of its games, Keno, was played an extraordinary 73.7 million times last year.
But the Keno odds took a sudden swing in the early morning hours of July 23, when scanners read all Keno tickets as losers, even when they weren't.
The Lottery never widely disclosed the technical glitch that gave players zero chance of winning. The agency confirmed the defect lasted nearly six h

Lottery rigger warned officials about computerized drawing machines years ago
By Jason Clayworth
The mastermind behind a national lottery scam says he warned officials about a glitch in computer-generated drawings 11 years ago, but nobody seemed too worried, his lawyer revealed in an exclusive interview.
The same glitch involving identical numbers drawn consecutively or nearly consecutively occurred again in the past two weeks in Arizona, prompting state officials to offer players a refund.
