where can I buy lottery tickets online?
I'm just wondering when the big game and NJ sites will be back up. Is there any word as to the reason for the downtime? If I wanted to play the California lotto, I would go to mylotteryclub, but the jackpots there are not that large, at least not right now. Does anyone know if there are any other sites offering online lottery play, or when playbiggame or the NJ site will be back in operation?

New game sounds interesting
For those who haven't heard the news yet, New York is joining the other seven Big Game states to come up with a new big jackpot game, unnamed as of yet. Check out the details at www.biggamelottery.com. (Link below.)Looks like jackpots will be starting at $10 million, instead of the $5 million they currently start at.Watch out, Powerball...-Todd

Secrets Of The Lottery.....
I live in Ohio and play 649Plus and Buckeye5. I also travel to Michigan and Indiana to play the Biggame and Powerball when the jackpots is large enough.RJOh

Powerball 100m/54.9m ca$h for Wed 8/15
RJoh: The purpose of Lotto South is to allow players to try for larger jackpots than in the three separate lotto games, but without the 1 in 75+ million jackpot odds for the Big Game. Single-state jackpot games are losing favor (with a few exceptions.) The new lottery director in Michigan is being urged to replace Michigan Millions with a proposed multi-state game.

Powerball 100m/54.9m ca$h for Wed 8/15
Kentucky has the Powerball now. There would be no point in having a new game that competes with it. I suspect Lotto South will have better odds and smaller jackpots most of the times, and Ohio will update its games if neccesary to compete.RJOh

more info on Lotto South
They're certainly not being very open about their plans. I did read somewhere (can't track down where) that Georgia did decide to go forward with Lotto South (replacing their existing lotto game), and that same source said it was a done deal for VA and KY as well. Also, jackpots will definitely start at $2 million and build from there. While that's better than a jackpot starting at $1 million, I can't see it causing people to flood the lottery retailers.Either way, it'll be interesting to watch.

Hello Susan,Looked at your link and I didn't see any information about jackpots, prize pools and etc. as you suggested in an earlier respond. All I saw were requests for information needed to sell lottery tickets from Europe. Do you know of a link that display that information without requesting all that personal information? RJOh

payments?
Dear Sparky: Take the cash (lump sum)-there are annuity jackpots which are paid over _30_ installments, and some annuities give you less money in the first payment than in the second. If you're in Massachusetts, DO NOT play Megabucks or Mass Millions as the Mass. Lottery still refuses to give players a cash option (though Big Game winners in all seven states can choose lump sum.) The Wash. state and Oregon lotteries each have a lotto game that are almost entirely quick-pick AND are lifetime

Michigan Lotto
Charlie,I agree with you. Bonus Ball lotteries like The Big Game and Powerball work because of the fact that they are multi-state lotteries, and therefore have larger player pools.States looking to revamp their lotteries should probably do something like New Jersey did: stick with a pick 6 and offer prizes for matching as few as 3 numbers. New Jersey increased the size of their jackpots by slightly increasing the size of its number pool.I think state lotteries get a little too greedy sometim

Take aways
Yeah, I agree. This is definitely a trend -- I think caused by the desire to increase the size of the jackpot. When the jackpot increases, so does the number of ticket purchases. New Jersey, as part of their lottery restructure, has also eliminated their bonus drawing. Instead, they are focused on larger jackpots. Many lottery players enjoy a multiple prize structure which includes sizeable bonus prizes. Hopefully the lotteries are listening.
