Pick-3 for Dummies Week of Saturday 06/16/2012
Check the post just before this one in which I give the results for draw in Ontario (Canada) evening game win on 7-1-4. Why does a person from England get to claim the entire prize
rgse, Someone from England a few years ago won the 1 million dollars a year for life scratch off in NY. They did not have to pay any federal taxes and they get something like 960 thousand or so dollars a year tax free. 1 millions dollars a year for life, tax free, and they get $960,000 a year. What happened to the other $40,000? I'm not sure about winning in a foreign country, but the U.S. is one of the few countries that taxes gambling winnings. In England, Ireland, Canada and Austra

Woman sues business partner for share of $12.6M lottery jackpot
Ganguin signed a waiver for the B.C. Lottery Corporation in which she accepted that the winning ticket was not purchased through their business. It looks like Ganguin changed her mind and wants to show a jury her 6.3 million reasons why. In the absence of such evidence, said Armstrong, the plaintiff's only hope is for a trial judge to disbelieve the defendant's evidence after hearing cross-examination of both parties. The only evidence Fehr needs is the signed waiver by Ganguin and

An American Playing Various Canadian Lottery Games
Corporations do not pay U.S. taxes on money they keep overseas. When a company brings that profit into this country, they are required to pay taxes. I wonder if the same rules apply to an American winning the Canadian lotto and keeping the money deposited in Canada? I would think so. But I could be wrong. According to my wife I am always wrong. In fact, if a tree falls in the forest and no man is around to hear the tree fall, is he still wrong? Yep!
