Why playing the lottery in groups increases the chances of winning?Reply
Common sense to me would mean if you want to save money don't spend money on the lottery. Odds are the lottery is a losing proposition. Buying more tix is a double edged sword. Yes, buying more tix will increase your chances of winning, but will also increase your cost. Because of the odds of jackpot games, your chances of winning a jackpot are still very poor.

Did Michigan increase Cash Payouts?
I remember Michigan started the Cash payouts for $1,000,000 annuities at $654,266 before dropping them to $634,517. I just recently read on the official website that a player selected the Cash amount (which they said was about $693,000 ) instead of the $1,000,000 annuity. Did they announce they upped the payouts and I just missed the announcement or wasn't there any statement released at all?

The 570 was already planned about half a day before they had the final total, and they probably have a policy of never changing the initial amount once they make a forecast. I remember when pb would increase quickly once it hit 200 mil, now it is increasing real slow. 11 million added since Monday is real low for such a high jackpot.
