Did I possibly got scammed by storeclerk?
The KY Lottery ticket scanners give the value of the ticket too. They also have vending machines that give credits for tickets worth up to $25. Once a ticket is scanned and the credit is given, that ticket becomes worthless and no different than a losing ticket. There is a waste basket next to the machine there probably is a dumpster diver having a clerk in another store check those worthless tickets. That isn't an attempt to fraud the lottery because the terminal will say the ticket is not a wi

Post your scratch ticket results
Skeptic, Thanks for looking up all that info! I meant to reply to you earlier. THANKS!!! I'm back in Florida, but I had a couple days after seeing your post--and I stuck to the 100K/year games. Of course, I got a few Diamond Dazzlers too, since that was the game I hit the $500 on...hahaha....... didn't have any luck in the last home stretch before leaving Ohio. Ended up chasing tickets at one store, and my luck kind of fizzled out! That's how it goes, though!! Now, my flight from Clev

Have you ever been put back in line when redeeming lottery tickets?
I went to a convenience store to redeem 2 scratch offs worth 11 bucks. I was put back in line twice even though I came first because the clerk said it took a while to redeem the ticket. The 2nd time she did that she told me to come back in 20 minutes. I was up set but didn't say anything and just left the store . This is why I much prefer to buy and redeem my lottery tickets in a major grocery store, rather than a convenience store. The major grocery store has a lottery vending machine that n

When playing the lottery do you need positive energy and people around you?
pepper1 It sure would be nice but I've found it's very rare, if you're talking about where you play the lotto. Someone on LP once mentioned a Lottery Store in South Carolina, that would be nice. We don't have anything close around here. There's no place where there is lotto that is just lotto. Most opf the outlets here are in convenience marts, liquor stores, and grocery stores, which are usually very busy. The clerks are doing everything rom Western Union (grocery stores) to seeling ci

Which Scratching method is the better bet?
Hello all, been an avid scratcher for years now. Always played WV lottery, occasionally SC and NC. Most recently gotten into the PA lottery as it is only five mins down the road. Any ways, ive been trying to devise a new plan for scratching, let me know which one sounds like the better bet. I could.... A.) Buy and save up scratchers all month to a set amount of money, (usually in strings of 4 or 5 for the $5 and $10 dollar games) and designate one day a month to do all the scratching. This wo

One ticket sold in California wins $1.08 billion Powerball jackpot
Some people on here are complaining that someone in California has won the jackpot again. California has more lottery vending machine in more locations: Walmarts, corner stores, mini marts, CVS/Drug stores/grocery stores, etc. than any other state in the U.S. In my state, our local Walmart just got a lottery vending machine last year or so. California is not even the top state that has won the most Powerball jackpots. It is actually #10 on the list. Here is the list of states with the most P

so when you say "validate" a ticket
Someone correct me if I'm wrong. But I suspect validation is a process that takes place at Lottery HQ where they actually examine the ticket to make certain it's genuine. BTW, I always check my tickets online. So far, the only tickets I've ever had are losers of low cash-prize winners. I used to take my tickets into a convenience store that had a machine in the customer area ... where customers could scan a ticket barcode themselves. I only saw 2 responses in the LED window when I did this ... N

Lotto pet peeves (with vendors & other players)
What are some of your pet peeves with lotto sales agents, and other players? I'm not talking about your numbers not hitting, or hitting if you don't play them, what I mean here is irritations such as no play slips for the game you want to play. I'll start with that, here's a few of mine: Lotto Sales: No play slip available (this is very common around here. Granted lotto is usually a sideline, but still...) Clerks who don't know you can play Pick 3 / Pick 4 for 50 cents. Other pla

Once homeless, now a lottery winner: Colorado man gets his $1 million comeback
It's nice to see the Colorado Lottery in the news. I've played the 200X game a few times. One time I won $50. He's been playing scratch-off games on and off for a few years, he told the Colorado Lottery, but only when he could afford to . Jonathan will usually stick to the $5 games, recalling that the largest amount he'd ever won was $20. ... I was having a tough sales day , and it actually paid off, Jonathan recalled. My reaction was total disbelief. Those are oppos
