Are There Any Real Lottery Secrets?
I have routines that I wrote in my personal software that do that. I've checked Ohio649 and 50% of the combinations in the last 300 drawings had numbers that all six had hit at least once in the 9-22 previous drawings. It can check the winning numbers of any group of numbers or an part of either group. I haven't found any trends that would help in picking numbers. It also shows that if you go back 5 drawings on average 3 of the six winning numbers have hit in those 5 drawings and 3 have not.

Sequencial Probability
Rjoh, Yes, that's exactly where I got it from.My feeling is that, what is old to some is also new to others. And being that this is the mathematics forum, any info, reguardless of source, might stimulate new thoughts, new view points, and possibly new solutions if looked at by a new set people. So, as time goes by, don't be supprised if I pull other sources into this forum occasionally.I'm glad to see you go to google also. They occasionally have some useful articles.I'm actually getting some pos

Evidence mounts against defendant in Mega Millions lawsuit
Lottery pools work fine until they win over $600. Over $600 and someone got to pay some extra taxes at the end of the year and members don't want to give up 30% to the guy cashing the ticket unless it's big money. If it's big enough each member can pay their own taxes after filling out the right forms to get a personal W-G form at the end of the year. People who give someone $100 to buy tickets and don't see proof of purchase before the drawing is just asking for trouble. You would think wit

Hoosier Lottery: Den of Thieves...
Quote: Originally posted by jim695 on July 31, 2004Before Indiana had a lottery, I used to play in Ohio, and there was no state tax on any lottery winnings there. Part of the fun was not having to give the state any part of your windfall. I remembered when players would come from Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Kentucky to play the Ohio lottery, those were the days of jackpots upward of $60M plus, but I alway thought we had a state tax then. Well that is no longer true and now some of the l

Change Mega Millions?
Todd,You must be getting e-mail from people that have won several small jackpots because I've been playing MegaMillions since it came to Ohio and I've never matched more than 3 or 1 and 2 with the Mega ball. Either that or they think it's too easy for someone else to win. They must not understand that if no one thought it was worth playing for a $10M jackpot, the States would never be able to save up for a $250M jackpot. To some of those players who have never won, it will alway be too easy f

Ohio Super Lotto......07/28/04
Will the number 34 be in tonight's drawing? There have been 52 drawings since 34 has been in the first 6 numbers. Only one number has gone longer than 52 drawings without being in the first 6, and that was number 10 when it hit on 08/03/02 after 60 drawings. Actually there 6 numbers that have been out 25 drawings or longer and I'm including those numbers in one line of my picks for tonight. They are 03-04-12-17-34-39. There have never been a time when all six winning numbers haven't hit in 25

Gail Howard software
RJOh, this feature is not required for full wheels by the means of an abbreviated wheel as I described in a previous post. There, we don't look for coverage matters but mostly for correct filters to trap the winning combination. This means we can filter down to 99% rejection rates and still don't mind as long as our filters are set correct. This is why we don't talk about coverage rates on full wheels. The program does not display coverage on abbreviated wheels. This is mostly because you have

I currently use full wheels with 30 numbers (100000+ tickets). This ensures me I have a much greater chance to have all the winning numbers among them and then perform what I call intelligent filtering . This allows me to bring my final tickets down to 50-150 (I think this is much more affordable). Having started with 100000+ lines and 100% cover
