annuity payouts?
The formula for NY Lotto is: 2.5% the first year, 2.7% the second, and increasing by 0.1 point yearly until 5.1% in the 26th and final payment. I would avoid buying NY Lotto tickets because the prize return is a paltry 40% of sales; instead play the new Cool Cash scratch, where you can win free Lotto plays. The best multi-million dollar jackpot games bordering NY are New Jersey Pick-6 Lotto , Connecticut Classic Lotto , and, of course, Big Game and Powerball . (If you drive to Massachuset

LOOKING FOR MASS LOTTERY MATERIAL
I assume you once lived in Massachusetts, but now live in Florida. If you come back to the Northeast, avoid playing Mass Millions and Mass. Megabucks because the Mass. lottery still requires the jackpot in either game to be paid through an annuity, although Big Game winners can receive a lump sum. Also, avoid (where I live) New York Lotto , because the NY legislature won't allow the prize pool to exceed 40% of sales.

Wisconsin Mega Bucks
Last week I emailed a question to the lottery, this is their reply... Thank you for reaching out to us with your questions. All prizes in Wisconsin's Megabucks are funded solely out of the tickets purchased. (Approximately 53.5% of each dollar played is allocated to prizes.) As the Megabucks jackpot was recently won, sales must be enough to fund the minimum $400,000 starting cash option before you will see that cash option number begin to increase, and the same can be said of the adve

Millionaire for Life multi-state lottery game to replace Cash4Life and Lucky for Life in February
I haven't paid any attention to this game nut I just saw it on the NY lottery's home page for the first time. Obviously everybody gets to decide whether or not they want to play, but here are a couple of thoughts. The first is largely about playing this or playing PB (or MM) when the jackpot is still small. Generally, at least 8 to 10 million people (5 to 7 isn't unusual for Monday drawings) spend $2 when the annuity is $20 to $30 million (even if you die before the drawing) and the cash val

Judge rules NJ couple's lottery annuity payments can't be taxed retroactively
A New Jersey Tax Court judge has sided with a couple who won $46 million in the state lottery in 2000 and elected to have their winnings distributed in annual installments as a multiyear annuity payment, holding that the state did not have the right to retroactively tax their winnings after passing a new statute. Plaintiffs Melvin Milligan and Kim Lawton-Milligan, who won the Big Game Lottery jackpot drawing in 2000, opted for 26 annual payouts of $1.77 million. They argued that the 2009 sta
