Asset managers accused of fronting for real $254M Powerball winner
Hello rdgrnr, I'm a long time reader of Lottery Post but a first time poster. I really enjoy reading your post. They are full of humor and common sense. My girlfriend and I were reading this story and came up with another twist. What do you think? 1. Is it true that when you claim the ticket anonymusly under a trust, that the lottery and IRS know the name and SS# of the real winner even though the public doesn't? If so, we feel the real winner is someone who didn't want the IRS and lott

$107 million lottery winner turns out to be son of Marriott president
By Todd Northrop When Lottery Post reported in August about 25-year-old Brian McCarthy claiming a $107 million Mega Millions lottery jackpot, little was known publicly about the new multi-millionaire. (See Virginia man claims $107M Mega Millions jackpot, Lottery Post, Aug. 16, 2011.) Now it can be revealed that the lucky young lottery player is actually the son of the Marriott hotels president, Robert McCarthy, a millionaire in his own right, earning an annual salary of around $1.2 mill

How much do you have to win in order to be...
I had meant to quote hearsetrax, so my post probably didn't come across as I meant for it to. It was about the article he posted, I only read the part of wealth and it annoyed me. It just stereotyped rich people saying all they do is buy stuff to one up their friends. The website also used data that noted Nigeria as having a big increase in happiness as meaning Nigerians are happier than people anywhere else in the world. In reality they weren't even shown on the list of places with the happiest

Praying?
I wish so many people would stop debating over who is who's servant. Man being God's servant, or God being man's servant. Just STOP thinking of it like that. People need to look at God and others as FAMILY. We do things for God and he does things for us. We care about each other. We love God and God loves us. What really matters is the love you have for God and the purity of your heart, which he can see. So many people make God out to be some man with a magnifying glass looking at an anthill and

Tiger Woods why don't they leave him alone?
My 2 cents... What Tiger did was wrong because of the hurt and shame he caused himself and family. But, in all honesty... Isn't he just human? It's amazing how the media is using it to beat him over the head as if he's not going through enough. I think it's a private matter and they should leave him alone. And... wouldn't it be great if the media treated all citizens rich and poor the same way because I would sure love to cash in on my girlfriend who's messing around with a married man. I think

CPA turns $2 into $13M lottery jackpot
Steve Workman stopped by a grocery store in Champaign, Illinois, Friday before leaving town for the weekend and bought a $2 lottery ticket. Monday, he was back from his weekend trip and decided to check the numbers on several lottery tickets he was holding when he stopped to fill his car with gas. To his surprise, he discovered he was the single winner of $13.5 million jackpot in the Illinois State Lottery's Lotto drawing held Saturday night. I couldn't stop laughing. It was funny as h

Lottery winner goes from rags to riches to rags
For David Lee Edwards, winning the lottery was a wild rocket ride In the fall of 2006, David Lee Edwards and his wife, Shawna, decorated their front door for Halloween. But if trick-or-treaters made it to the couple's home, a storage unit in Riviera Beach, no plastic ghost was as scary as what they'd have found inside: two pale, withered junkies from Kentucky living amid dirty clothes, rotting food, and their own filth. And these were lottery winners. Today, with David on what could be

NEW JERSEY 2/2/07 mid & eve
02/02/07 277-670-640-264-874-274-446-164 In The Ravine One day, Jim and Bob are out golfing. Jim slices his ball deep into a wooded ravine. He grabs his 8-iron and proceeds down the embankment into the ravine in search of his ball. The brush is quite thick, but Jim searches diligently and suddenly he spots something shiny. As he gets closer, he realizes that the shiny object is in fact an 8-iron in the hands of a skeleton lying near an old golf ball.
