Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
The frenzied point has normally started around the $700M -$750M mark for either of the Big 2

This $5 fee has definitely changed that constant aspect and in my humble opinion we will have to see consistent jumps up in the $60 Million or more range to get a good gauge where the new frenzied starting po

Scratch off's
I just googledmy state. This is what ai said....., Maryland scratch-off prizes are paid in a lump sum, not an annuity . Annuity payments, which distribute winnings in installments over many years, are an option only for large jackpot prizes from specific drawing games like Powerball, Mega Millions, and Multi-Match.

New Millionaire for Life multi-state game coming in 2026
I'm finding it increasingly difficult to scrape together $5.00 to play Mega Millions more so than $2.00 to play PowerBall.... It's apparent to me at $20 - $25 Million a roll for the current MM jackpot run some if not most of y'all are having the same difficulty. These lower odds/prizes games should be capped at maybe $3.00.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
Did anybody notice Powerball came up 5 million short at draw time? $290.4 Million ($295 Million initially advertised), an increase of 18 million from prior draw.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
The Mega Millions jackpot has increased by $25 million to $625 million after 31 consecutive rolls and is the largest Mega Millions jackpot since December 2024. There is a 3% chance the jackpot will be won in the October 17 draw with projected sales of $44 million. The sales per draw have been amazingly consistent over the last few draws and show no signs of increasing despite the relatively large size of the jackpot. The maximum draw sales for this run were $51 million and occurred for the Septe

MM and PB jackpot increases.
Powerball has a lot more regular players who are not addicts. If they jack up their price to $5, they'll lose regular players as well.

Kindness is never wasted! 😊
When we had to go to another state to play Powerball we went to Indiana one day. I played a PB ticket and played the same ticket for the young guy working at the gas station where we stopped. The ticket won $110 for both of us.

MM $5, PB $2, Powerplay $1I
Just my two cents...mega only if it's WAY up there and then minimal. NEVER the Powerball without the power play. Adjust the number of tickets purchased to include the extra buck. I have a group lottery that I will not join because of no power play. It makes no sense to me and I'm better off on my own.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
Here is further evidence Powerball is still winning the race. ... After 5 Mega Millions draws ..
PB has fairly consistently grown faster than MM, including under the $2 per ticket format, because of the 3rd weekly drawing, with short variations when MM has a really big jackpot. The consensus seems to be that Sunday drawing are unlikely, so MM has to work with just the 2 drawings per week. The differences you're comparing are advertised jackpots of 358 vs 20 and 474 vs 145. Over those drawin

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
Thank you for that explanation, KY Floyd. It would be nice if calottery.com explained this. They don't. Here's what they have to say about it in fine print:
In California, POWERBALL prize amounts are pari-mutuel, will vary depending on ticket sales and number of winners and will differ from the fixed prizes shown on the POWERBALL website.
Prize amounts will vary ... really!
The only thing I could figure was that there was a prize pool for non-jackpot prizes that got distributed to
