Where would you invest your winnings?
Funny you should ask!!! I run a pool at work and I made the comment the other day that if I or we won, I would probably install a fireproof safe in my house and just keep the cash. At least I wouldn't have to worry about somebody else or the government losing my money for me.

Mathematics and the Lottery
Tell the person I know in a certain state, which I won't mention, that has made almost $700,000 bucks, If not more by now in the P-4 game playing online, that the Gambler's fallacy is true. The catch is that he does play a lot of numbers for each draw. One of his strategies is to play the remainder of the combos not shown straight yet in his state. There are about 6,300 combos that fit that category. Additionally, he'll play about 2 to 4 other smaller groups of numbers that were generated by a f

Massachusetts Lottery closes loophole after big wins
punishing all the stores in the commonwealth because of a few rotten tomatoes that allowed the high roller customers to print their tickets is not right How are they punishing other stores? By limiting them to 5,000 tickets per day in a particular game? I'd be extremely surprised if even the stores that sell the most tickets sell that many in a week, let alone a day. Before the jackpot passed the $2 million mark it increased by a maximum of just over 50k during 4 days pf sales. Assuming tha

lottery machines going down during a storm?
I've had that happen to me twice in the last week. Last Sunday, there was rain in my area and I was able to purchase tickets, but when the clerk went to cash one for me, the machine went down. He said it was because they use satellite and that goes down during storms. That happened to me on Friday when I went to buy tickets for my office lottery pool. I went to two places on my lunch break and both told me the same thing; that the satellite was down and they couldn't sell me tickets. The weather

Old high tech system
When TX first started lottery there was a man who lived in the same town as I did. He had a set of ping pong balls each numberd the same as the lottery. He would throw all the ping pong balls into his swiming pool. The first 5 or 6 (don't rember the exact number) that got into the skimmer would be the numbers he would play. He never claimed to have won any jackpot but he did say he won some of the smaller prizes.

The biggest mistake people make is:
I guess I'd rather get 5 of 5 even If I had to split the 5 of 5 pool with those people right? It's better than no win at all.... That rule is specifically for folks who don't want to split the JP, but again who cares, a lower tier win is a win, even splitting it right?

Canada couple loses out on $1.64M jackpot
Matthew Hayduk, an Edmonton man had go to court before getting his $33 million lottery jackpot and he wasn't in a pool. It seems in Canada anyone can file a claim for the lottery jackpot even if they had no part in buying the winning ticket. https://www.lotterypost.com/news/233181
